You do realize Windows 7 has the same exact thing. It's called "backup and restore". All you have to do, as with an Apple product, is select the backup drive.

That has nothing to do with Apple.

"It's all marketing." Hogwash. Apple doesn't advertise any more than any other damn computer company. They just happen to make good products that people actually wind up liking. They practically never do product placement in movies, they don't hire celebrities to use their products in music videos like Monster...

Yeah, I was thinking about responding to this comment Sean (and how to) for some time, so lets make it very quick and short.

Do you remember this whole series of commercials "Mac vs PC guy" like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0rz...feature=related (one of many) which very smart and funny way beat crap out of the PC and guess who was playing in this commercial??

I thought, from Mac perspective, it was a brilliant and funny move but from PC perspective was very nasty and damaging, making almost anybody who is using PC looking stupid.

One thing though, from my point of view if you you are perfectly happy from what you have and is not impacting your productivity, use what you want to use, either that is Mac or PC - this is your and only your decision man, I don't care who do you sleep at night with or what is you primary workstation at home, it is simply not my business but I still will have respect for you as a competent and quality producer my friend --> this is why I joined this site for !!!

Cheers,

It's sad how oblivious so many people are to this. To be fair, companies like Foxconn make components for other large companies too, but that's cold comfort.

You already have a mac pro case you'd never know the difference.

Because like the xbox 360 and Microsoft, Macintosh changes the crom often.

I'm not sure this is the case with Mac, but I'm "assuming so." Since I've hacked a bunch, I could only "Assume" this to be true. It would be "Common Sense" that mac would make it a "PINA to make Macintosh Computers." Since why would you buy a mac, if you could build one for half the cost? "Looks" lol.. hahh that would be it then.

Options exist like custom USB things for the Motherboard that "make the computer a MAC" to Macintosh. I'm not sure on support for those things, vs them "making a new one" since I'm not sure if it hardware hacking or just a firmware.

"Geek Talk"

Sorry but I've never built one. All I can say is my Windows 7 pc, I didn't hack it at all compared to Windows 98 and it was fine for me.

I finally got a Macbook Pro with Logic, and I'm a long term Cubase / Nuendo dude from 98. Logic is dope but so is Cubase once you know all the little tricks and "dig into" the system.

I think still, Mac is better for creation in some ways, and Windows is better for creation in some ways.

Honestly a single session, to make 1 sound, a lead sound with 20 soft synths or whatever
you need, for Sampling. Making Samples using the full processing power of the computer, then bouncing to audio, making a few samples in different keys, different lengths...

Those kinds of "SAMPLE SESSIONS" help others, and you, a lot.

Also, reprocessing existing samples, sorta like remastering a track. It's fun and useful to build a custom sample set or really try max processing for 1 synth sound and bounce it. Even mid track composing, bounce a track as audio, play it, then a new session for the custom lead sound. Dope huh.
Peace

Wait even more dope. Have both Windows and Mac.

Use the Windows PC or Mac to remotely control the Mac or PC

Laptop's to control a desktop is my preference, but it doesn't matter if they are both desktop.

So you could run 1 pc, Windows 7 and 1 Hackintosh, run both at the same time, even
setup an ftp or desktop link folder between the two, bouncing files to WAV or AIFF, for the mix.

I find a good strategy for mixing / producing... Bounce everything to WAVE or AIFF, try to mix / produce in Audio more then midi... Since it's all audio when you mix.

And yah, even producing, if your box is fast enough, add one compressor on the master bus, when composing / writing the track. Kinda helps make it go faster.

Pretty sure it was him. I posted a link to his psychosis in your PC build thread.

same guy

and the opera singing. And the meth studio video. To be honest, he is the result of years of abuse and childhood bullying but still , i guess it still is funny. The schoolyard is a battlefield.

I didn't think it would ever happen.

On the shutdown - If it does it again, try removing/reseating any chips/cards and clean the connectors. That can happen when the heat/cool expansion works them out of socket just enough to allow for oxidation of the contacts. Random chaos ensues.

Then again, It could be hosed parts.
