I think the Tesla is pretty cool.
In other news, I bought Ford and Goodyear Tires this week!

Figures. If I was given a BMW, I'd sell it. Back in the UK, they are known as the first car you go out and buy if you're a tacky sleazeball and just came in to some money. Swiss Tony is the archetype.
Don't get me wrong they drive well but but they are just so damn tacky. They scream "I wanted a Porsche or Merc but couldn't afford it/didn't understand".
That CLA is a good looking car and something oozes elegance, but I can't help feeling that Mercedez are at a transitional phase with their styling; like they have just another step of evolution to go before the cars are perfect looks wise.
And Russel, will you please stop talking nonesense - we already set you straight in the other tread a while back.
Hybrids are rubbish. They are a stop gap while the car companies with oil interests (or vice versa) figure out how to sell us Electricity.
If you're someone that sits in a tin of traffic then yes, they'll be good value but for everyone else they're . Why? because on highway (or above 30mph actually), they're no more efficient (worse in some cases) than well engineered new combustion vehicle. Now factor in that you paid 20-30% more on the buy price because it was a hybrid and over the life of the car compared to the minimal (or non-existant) gas savings, you've just got a bad deal.
My friend just got the new Tesla Model S - thing is ing sexy. Although really sllek inside, it's kinda bizarre how they do the interior - you literally have to choose everything yourself at extra charges, otherwise it comes really basic. The whole center of the dashboard is one massive touchscreen and there's no key - just a little Tesla S shaped keyfob you keep in your pocket and the car senses when you're close to lock or unlock, start etc.
Thing ing moves too - just slam your foot down and you get this near linear rate of acceleration and the thing is silent, freakishly quiet.

I dunno, I see the whole high status car thing altogether as kind of a rigged game. The fact that you're even out there showing off your wallet at all is already a pretty good tipoff that you're a douche.

You're really ing stupid. A BMW is better than a merc in pretty much every way. Your personal taste and the taste of your classless Brit trash don't count for much. Your taste is if you think that tesla is sexy. It looks like a ing dodge dart.
You remind me of l4c, but with the ability to put together semi-coherent sentences. You paint yourself as an expert on any topic imaginable when really you don't know . Or did you have a meeting with the inventor of the hybrid car yesterday too? |

| Eh not a fan of the Tesla. It looks glamorous in pictures but whenever I've seen it in person it's very underwhelming. I'll go so far as to compare the damn thing to the new Kia Optima in terms of looks (not a downer on the Kia; that thing is plenty attractive for the price). Yes the interior is nice but I hate the touch screen control. I love the various knobs and buttons on car dashes just cause they're tangible. I like to feel as though I'm in a car, not a computer. And the lack of noise when driving in it is just unnerving. |

You are going to pay 35k for a car? Jesus, no wonder so many people don't have money left over to save. If you want my honest opinion, you would be better off spending that 35k on prostitutes in the Ukraine and Russia. At least you would have pleasant memories to look back when you are old. |
Lol 35k for a car is expensive?
I think 35 000 us dollars is about the going rate here for an Audi A-1 1,2 liter (86 bhp yo) or the most stripped down version of the Kia C'eed. |

That's such a ing sheep mentality.
Do something to make yourself stick out of the crowd of sleazy house sellers that you want to wash your hands after shaking hands with.
Only the most ghetto people get impressed by a car nowadays, and you ain't selling to them, are you? |

My dad just spent 20k on a gto 2006 and 12 for a solara 2008. In came in at a little over 36k. Neither of those cars are bad cars. And you don't need a lot of junk for a car to be nice. Just get a stripped version and then do it yourself if you want extras. Not too hard and it will be cheaper.
Well people spend money on what they believe is important. If I was going to spend money on stuff it would be hookers.
I think buying a car in Europe is probably more expensive. |

Time to do what I would do in your situation. Quit. |

I have to agree about the BMW vs Mercedes. Both nice cars but (here anyway) I find the BMW nicer looking. Around these parts most people that drive Mercedes-Benz are old guys that golf. |
