I was pretty disappointed with the new daft punk album. I thought (for some reason) that all those promo videos I saw were legit. This was gonna be one of the biggest things since thriller....I was lead to believe.
I don't hate Lucky. And there's an odd song on the album that isn't TERRIBLE, or at least I can understand what they were going for...but i ffs. Nobody cares how much effort you put into recording your songs if it turns out like this.
I secretly like the song touch. but i wont tell anybody that. ever. not even you guys.

funny enough i keep thinking of thriller and other epic albums from the 80s when listening to it, it has that grandiose feel. i think once the expectations die down for what a select few *wanted* this album to be, it'll be appreciated as a true classic. the reviews are already through the roof.

this is the song and (after a few seconds) the best part in the album. in the most hilarious way.
I honestly find this song to be a comedy. but on purpose.
i like it...just at these few moments after the guy stops singing.
I've only given it the most superficial listen, but it just sounds like music that was made better a long time ago being made by an act that made it better a long time ago.

I offered plenty of reasons which nobody seem to have anything to say other than for some reason , a post regarding an album in a music forum is ing controversial.
Ido think it pisses you off because unfortunately your well honed rhetoric doesn't really help you out in parsing music in any substantial way. And because you have a really small penis and put way too much ing stock in being TA's in whatever it is you are , you wet your pants.

I must've been smoking crack without smoking crack when I made that Daft Punk thread in 2010. I dismissed their entire catalogue at the time, but I just bumped Alive 1997 and it's friggin amazing.

As much as I don't really care for L4C's posts, as I do believe he tries to come off as an expert on virtually every subject that gets discussed on this board, I have to agree with his negative synopsis on this album. It does come off as rather empty and flat. The emotions the songs attempts to convey never completely materializes, a general void where you sense that something is missing. Pretty disappointing, as like he said, DP had some high profile collaborators on this project.
I did think Beyond was pretty good, aside from that though, meh. We'll see what the remixes yield.

yes this is far from club friendly. The Get Lucky track can be a good warm up song for a pop concert or as background music but nobody can dance/fistpump to this.
This is maybe like Armin van Buuren's/Tiesto's albums, the original is unlisteneable but then some promising tracks get to the right hands and becomes a good club anthem.
