Daft Punk's new album (pg. 7)

I read a review by an italian journalist that had credentials to listen to it in the first show off in Sony? I think this is the label. He bashed the whole album saying that he felt like listening the same song over and over again and that he got very bored by the 4th track and went to have a cigarette on the bathroom. Things like this kinda lower his credibility but this are the comments i've read.

A friend of mine talks wonders about this album but he is a ing hipster so i don't trust him. However i am not neutral towards this album as i have a predisposition to hate it.

That journalist sounds like a hack. I've listened to the album and it's far from repetitive.

How are people cunts for not liking it? I'm not one who's just looking for 4x4 music, and you've told me that you don't think I'm a cunt, but I find the album to be boring as all . It's just not my thing.

I really, really don't understand the "controversy" over this ing album. All over the internet, people that love it are screaming at the people who hate it, and vice versa. I'm surprised that so many people seem to be so incredibly inept at understanding that not everybody loves/hates the same thing as everybody else.

I agree with L4C regarding the mix and lack of layering: makes most of the album sound way too clean and empty.
Probably would've sounded better if they'd kept most of the orchestral stuff they recorded in the tracks.

That being said, I enjoy a lot of the tracks. Giorgio by Moroder, Instant Crush, Beyond, Touch & Doin It Right being favourites.
Shame Within had to have boring lyrics, because the piano play by Gonzales was really nice :)

I'm not saying he's a cunt for not liking it, I'm just saying he's a cunt in general. He's a very specific type of cunt. The "I think I could do it better" cunt.

Somewhat related, I thought this was a pretty cool cover.

It'd be cool seeing L4C do something like this to try to make it better. I think he'd rather flex his musical knowledge online, and I also don't think he's talented enough to do something like this.

Not sure how they managed to make something so ing dull. Most will say it sucks because it isn't house/dance music but it is just bad no matter the context. The problem is that you have about 20 years of live funk music that just puts this to shame. Growing is important for artists but this just sounds like the GOP commissioned an album that white people could dance to. What a disappointment.

just brutal.

I'm glad you said something because I was wondering whether I was becoming too cynical.

I listened to get lucky and I kind of liked that, but it wasn't what I expected. I listened to one other song and it was pretty dull. I'm not gonna waste time listening to the rest. It doesn't have that same energy their other stuff has. It's not really about genre, more about groove.

The whole tron legacy album was . The only reason people said it was good was because disney told everyone it was daft punk. Derezzed was more like them, but everything else could have been background music to any ty scifi movie. The movie sucked major ass anyway, so it doesn't help their cause.

So your justification is that you listened to two songs. You liked one and didn't like the other, so you're not going to listen to the rest of the album because of that? That's pretty daft reasoning.

Also, you just spent a paragraph saying the Tron soundtrack was and sounded like background music for a sci-fi film.....which it was. You also went along to point out you didn't like the movie either, which weakens that already terribly weak argument for why you didn't like the soundtrack.

Are you also going to say you hate Daft Punk because you got sold some bunk E at Alive 2007?

my review was pretty explicit in that i was not upset because it wasn't edm. And the album is almost all 4x4 so perhaps you should address the issues i actually brought up .You don't have to invent reasons for why i don't like it. I stated them quite explicitly.

The most annoying part is that i state my reasons and those that claim i'm the **** thinking i'm better have deal with retards whose only reply like yours . was i'm way off. No substantiation to why, just that i'm wrong. I mean how the am I at fault. I made an argument to why i was really disappointed to something i really thought would be good. And that disappointment was not because it wasn't discovery or homework but given the context of what they were trying to do.

If M4B says its bad, then its probably bad.

I'm not the kind of person that has to listen to an entire album to decide whether or not I'll like it.

Do you go to the book store and read every book cover to cover to see if you like it? I read the covers and index, and maybe look through some chapters. Same concept.

People treated the Tron Legacy OST like it was something special because it was daft punk. If it was Hans Zimmer people wouldn't have really cared. It was a soundtrack, it wasn't listening music.

The movie being didn't help them gain recognition.

If you re-do that post in English I might be able to respond to it.

Dude, it's a movie soundtrack. It worked well with the specific movie. I don't really understand with your thinking that a MOVIE soundtrack didn't fit your taste as a LISTENING album. Therefore it makes it a bad soundtrack. There's quite a few spectacular soundtracks that aren't "listening music".

And listening to 2 songs and judging an entire album by it is incredibly stupid, no matter how you try to justify your reasoning.

The book analogy is just idiotic, so I'm not going to bother responding to that.

Have you heard many original songs like that in OST's?
People made a big deal out of it because it was two people creating the soundtrack for an entire movie, which isn't common.
It's not like it was Hans Zimmer composing a soundtrack with a full orchestra.
