Tony went to the market cuz he ran out of pasta water where he met Luigi stocking up on amarone. Vanessa said her nonna was sick and gave those two momos a hug. They didn’t wash their hands because they’re trying to regain Italian honour and once again become more filthy than the Dutch. The Dutch make bad music and pride themselves on their population of weird looking men and amazon sized women

This reads like the lyrics to some unreleased Fluke tune from 1997.

Went to the midwife today and it looks like social distancing/isolation are finally in action. Streets are quiet and anyone walking around is doing so cautiously.

Even had a few people crack a joke about giving us two meters. Walked into the shop and people were more than willing to step aside for each other in doorways and aisles.

What the hell happened overnight?!

Oh, I believe you. I know a true story when I hear it. I'm just so excited for part 2!

Traffic in Beijing has mostly returned to normal.

Maybe they aren't fudging their numbers as much as people think?

It'll be very interesting to see if they have a second spike of cases. And even if they don't, will that be a replicable example for Western nations with less authoritarian power structures?
Lews
Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan have all handled this much better than the West, and they have much less authoritarian power structures than the China. I'm not sure it's China's structure that has (possibly) enabled them to limit the spread.

It's clear now that the West was far too sanguine about the virus. Our lack of testing has been atrocious.

But have those countries achieved zero new cases for several successive days? Genuine question, by the way.

My point is that if China has completely isolated the spread of cases to people already in care then they could go back to normal and theoretically avoid another outbreak. But can we emulate that complete isolation without using their measures?
Zoso
No worries, Jack. It sounds like us good ole reliable Americans are about to say " it, full steam ahead" economically. If you get sick and die, well, that's on you.
