Interesting. Percussion is kinda neat. Beepy things at the start sound almost Airdrawndagger-ish. The lead is harsh-sounding to my ears, but it's not too bad. Not really my kinda track though. |
there really is no lead tho......the guitar bit yea i know its kinda earpiercing..gotta touch that up |

Well... yea you know what I mean.
I actually have a new one of my own that I just finished about an hour ago. I'm gonna upload it sometime this weekend, but it will first be making its debut at Peter's party. |

Here it is! My new track. Finished it a week ago, but I did the final (heheheh "final"... nothing's ever "final") mastering today and got everything to sound nice. I played it at Peter's party, however it was about 7pm and not many of you had showed up yet, so most of you haven't heard this.
It's based on a track called Souvenir De Chine by composer Jean Michel Jarre. Fire & Ice did a version of this back in 2000-ish (probably a track that many of you will remember; it was pretty famous). My version is a bit more modern, has a groovier bassline, and has an airy trance feel (unlike the Fire & Ice version, which was just a big mash of synth.) There's also an fx sample in here 2 or 3 times that some of you might recognize as well.
Enjoy!

Feedback (good or bad) is always welcome. |

The first bass you hear first at about 0:29 is one I made myself. It's a synth pad played at a mid-low frequency that has had a load of filters and envelopes thrown over it.
The second bassline that comes in a bit later (when the pads come in fully, about 2:21) is a sample from a kurzweil k2000. |

[Lame excuse to bump thread]
An interesting piece of trivia. The first high you hear in my track, right at the start of the song (like 1/4 of a second in on the first offbeat), is a sound effect I made from AN OLD WINDOWS SOUND EFFECT.
Windows 95 had came with a few lame desktop themes. One of them was a jungle theme, and it had all of these annoying jungle sounds for when you clicked on things. Well, one of those sounds was a rattlesnake rattle that I took, messed with, pitched up, added reverb, and used in this track!
Hopefully Microsoft won't sue me when I'm famous :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

I think people aren't interested because it's too many pages long. I'm tempted to just start my own thread because a lotta people don't read this one. Sure, I get some good feedback in the other forum, but I want to know what TOTA has to say.
BTW Jer, DLing your track now... will review soon. |

Second Nature - Amnesia (Clip)
Goal: Ibiza Tech Trancer.
Allllllmost there. |
5 seconds in. I like it. Sounds a lot like Lolo - Why, but at about 8-10 BPM faster.
Needs a bit of EQ I think. There is too much high from that cymbal. The synths need more mid-range. It needs a bassline too. Of course, I can't be too hard on you if this is only a demo. It definitely has potential. Plz continue working on it! |

If I had my recording gear with me I would totaly post more stuff in here. I've been writing new stuff but until I everything in one place its hard to record properly.
I like hearing what you guys locally are up to as well, it makes me feel more connected when I'm currently out of town for a bit. |
