Hmm, so what have we here..?

I *like* the elements you have goin' on here. Keeps it fresh sounding. Not so sure on the snare, but different strokes for different folks, right? Right idea on the bass, though when you really let it fly it could make use of a little control - Try some subtle delay effects or have another element to dampen the dropoff. Otherwise, it's clean and could really do some damage on a dancefloor - This is a great not-quite-peaktime piece of material and I'm pretty impressed!

haha.. SO.
I have been INSPIRED lately. So much so that I woke up this morning and in a few hours laid the groundwork for Scarlet.. It's going back to what I enjoy best, deep driving proggy basslines and stuttering, loose top end. Not sure why I'm posting this up, but whatever.

Here's a quick chunk.. Gives you an idea of where she's headed without giving too much away. I'm really excited to finish 'er!

Cool. Sounds like some of Vadim Zhukov's older stuff.

haha.. Hardly. :P This is just one of, like.. Hundreds of concepts I've developed and never fleshed out.

Funny that VZ got mentioned though - That bassline is really smiliar sounding stuff. I really admire alot of his material, so to get that comparison is pretty in' sweet. Cheers! :)

Ok I recorded another one live today.
It's up on myspace at:
http://www.myspace.com/upgradeomega

the new one is the top one called Frequency.

Let me know what you think.
I went through about 3 takes and then just kept what I had. Some of the tweaking will change but this is more or less it's layout how I'd play it live.

Very nice. I enjoy your work a lot. This is very relaxing and quite... trancifying. :D

About 2 minutes in, there is a low sine-tone or bottle-blow noise that sounds a little rattle-ish like it's clipping. It continues until like 2:50, into the start of the breakdown.

Thanks. :) No matter what style of beats (breaks or 4/4) I always aim to keep it as trancey as possible. I don't know if you've heard the songs I have posted at the bottom of my sig but the first one there (Stolen) is pretty trancey too, although it's a bit more upbeat.

As for the clipping... that's the main synth I was tweaking to bring it right up to its max level of cutoff to get a frequency distortion. In the headphones it sounded ok but I agree that when it was actually recorded it sounded like it clipped at those points when it wasn't supposed to. Sometimes thats one of the draw backs of playing it live, but now that I know that happens I can ease off a bit the next time I play it and avoid that problem.

I also noticed again listening to it now all the way through that I must have hit a switch pattern key right at the last second of recording because it sounds like 0.5 of a second of another song got recorded at the end. lol. maybe I'll re-do this one tomorrow and post one that doesn't clip or add extra songs on the end. :D

Thanks for listening to it though, it's really appriciated. I've posted a bunch of stuff and never seem to get a lot of feedback most of the time so it's nice to hear.
