MDA isn't speed. The way you have it written "MDA (speed)" makes it seem like they are one in the same.
Danke. |
You're right, I missed that... what are MDA and MDEA again? AFAIK those are the ones commonly found in "ecstasy" pills. |

MDA and MDEA are common by-products of the production of MDMA. If you change conditions slightly you end up making the wrong product. They act similarily tho, to MDMA. Also, MDA is a metabolite of MDMA in the body so when you do MDMA it is converted to MDA and you get a double exposure to their effects. |

This topic is so old.
Yes we all know the media is crafting it in its own way. Yes we all know you can't blame the club/scene/drugs etc. There is really no argument here. The problem is that that's the way our society is. And it is very hard for us to change it. Diginut, your letter might be closer to the truth, but the writers won't care. They'll read it and throw it away. They are writing about stuff that attracts attention, popularity. They don't care about accuracy, they care about money. Many people already go clubbing/to a bar, and if they mention something about them in the paper, alot of people will pick up that paper. Its quite simple.
The only thing that will cause change is a revolution. |

Please. I'm not denying the obvious fact that it's more responsible not to take a drug than it is to take it. But while we're all playing by those rules, why don't we just go live in a bomb shelter for the rest of our lives subsisting off canned food - oh wait, canned food isn't healthy either, I guess there's just no way out is there? |

This makes me think of a quote from Trainspotting, when Ewan McGregor's character Mark Renton steals some Valium "which I have already procured from my mother, who is, in her own domestic and socially acceptable way, also a drug addict." |
just watched that movie last night
BRILLIANT |

Lol..
I remember reading a quote somewhere that went something like this (paraphrasing of course):
The only problem coke causes is the problem with your bank account.
Of course the quote was much more refined, but I got a kick out of it when I read it none the less.

| Well arron I think your article is very well put and you should send it. Weither they print it or not the media should have a little education on what they are talking about. I can't say that the friends are responsible for what happened to this girl, but I do know that if it was myself or any of my friends, something would have been done. I don't know about you guys but I would rather be alive than in trouble for doing drugs. You can't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. |

Remember that we don't know all of the details about what caused her friends to do what they did.
The information in the article didn't even come from one of them, it came from someone anonymous. |
Bottom line is, she was with people-since she got checked in at a hotel. They knew that she was very ill. They didn't take her to the hospital. Sounds very guilty to me! |

What kind of idiot drinks at one club and then decides to take E at an afterhours?
I'm suprised that if what the news source says is true, the others didn't OD as well. |

Margs,
Do you know of any medical evidence of adverse reactions as a result of alcohol and MDMA? |
