Greetings All!!! This will be my first official post on this site. After going to two or three parties with a gang of TA's (namely dancingqueen169, dvd2004 and partEgurl) and always meeting several more of you there I felt somewhat obliged to sign up but after a party like Sunday at Guv I had to get on here and share. I was FLOOOORED!! Prior to the party I hadn't really heard much of IM and what little I did hear didn't really leave much of an impression. When I stepped into the main room around 12:30 and heard them dropping those hard beats and saw the crowd reaction, how could you not get into it. I think we are all a little closer to the Israelis after a night like that (Could have lived without the hard elbows in the face though). Max...well...Max...I've seen him blow the place up before so I'll just think of those times. Armin...what can I say? Prior to seeing Armin @ Decadence a few months ago, trance meant very little to me. I thought of it as flowery, wimpy girl/gino music. I never realized until that night that Trance could pound harder than house and take to a much further destination. Sunday night was a journey and a half and just to add fuel to the fire, I have NEVER seen such a social crowd at the Guv. I must have met a hundred new people and had some of the best conversations. It was a pleasant experience all around. To those of you that I met it was also a pleasure.

....Ah yes and my favourite tracks of the evening

1. COMMUNICATIONS 3 (BLEW ME AWAY)
2. Jump the next Train
3. Silence
idream
I’ll start this one off with the best highlight of the night. While I was dancing up behind the DJ booth, my shirt was taken off and passed down to who I think was Armin's manager. He laid it out on the top of his records and then once Armin saw it he held it up to the crowd, then signed it and gave it back to me.

One track that I really wanted to hear the whole night was Ernesto vs Bastian - The Dark Side of the Moon. I first heard this track live at L O L last September being played by Ferry. And I think while he was playing it, I turned so emotional, I could have started to cry. I was so AMAZED !!!

I was the guy wearing a white tank top with a picture of AVB that I had made up and printed on the front of the shirt and on the back it read “release Ur Self" Thank to everyone that gave me comments on it and to the people that asked to take picture's. I was amazed with the reaction that I got on it.

My review of Infected Mushroom is, that I didn't like their style at all but I will say that I was shocked with how much energy the two of them had and the live vocals near the end was good but that's it.

I really didn't care much for the party until 3:30 when Mr. Van Buuren came on and played one of the best hard sounding trance sets that I had ever heard. To him I give many THANKS !!!!!!!!!!

All round a wicked night.

Excellent first post Dave !! "Are you going anywhere hot anytime soon? YEAH, the guv !!"

I went on the Toronto subway for the first time (on the way back to the hotel from guv), I was pretty excited about that !

What a great night !! At first I was not into IM's set, but after about half an hour I was loving it !! It was very different compared to what I usually listen to. I had no idea the violin performance was live until the end, too bad I missed it. What impressed me more about IM was the fact that they were out busting a move for most of Mark Olivers set !!! They definitly know how to party!! We talked about music, and how they are very down to earth. Then I shared some gum with them, and made my way back to the front.

I liked Armins set a lot, I loved the fact that it didn't sound too much like ASOT. I wish he would spin as long as DT does, OMG I would freak out !!! He just amazes me, every single time I see him. At one point I was saying to other TA's "Wow can you believe this, this is crazy !!"

My fav tracks of the night :
Austin Leeds vs Matthew Dekay - Taurus (Austin leeds vs Marcus Schulz miz) - all last week I kept saying, if I hear this track I am going to go ape, and I did, x 100
Ridgewalkers ft El - Find
Thrillseekers - synesthesia
Young parisians ft Ben Lost - jump the next train
Nalin and Kane - open your eyes
Perry O'neil - Wave Force

The crowd was awesome as always ! It was nice to meet moneyman, playa24_7, raveed, cono_sur, sgtfoo, J and trancechaos. Samhouse and Lauren, you are too much fun !!! I finally met Funkyfun, and had an amazing time with adi :D. Tordan, you are such a trooper to come to the guv right from the airport !

The only bad thing about my weekend was the drive back to Ottawa, yuck !!!

Awesome night, hope to see everyone soon,

-Linz

Refreshing to see an unjaded noob to remind the rest of us how spoiled we really are.

This is ALWAYS the sign of a good party.

No condensation means everyone is just standing around looking pretty. I remember warehouse parties in the dead of winter with this occuring because the body heat was heating the whole space.

i only have one word: UNBELIEVABLE. i've never been to a club as awesome as the government and i've never met such chill people... this was my first time in TO and wow, it was magical... you canadians really know how to party (yet another thing cdns can do better than americans), the energy was incredible.

kenneth thomas playing the somewhere remix, max graham and armin... what can i say but armin's set exceeded all my expectations... he's going to be the number 1 dj soon! he completely outdid sasha... synaesthesia 2004 ferry corsten remix was awesome... getting to meet armin was a dream come true!

much love to all the toronto ta's i met... so friendly! especially the vrk, sweetest guy i've ever met, kat... so adorable. make me want to meet more croatians :) harry and barry are so cool.

amazing being around people who can be so passionate in a world permeated by apathy.
being in to and meeting all the ta's made me feel like the bumble bee girl from the blind melon video, hehe.

i will have sweet dreams for at least a month after this... best weekend of my life! only wish it could've lasted longer!

Me too ;)

When I asked if Armin could sneak it in, he had such a pained look on his face, and said "maybe"... It totally didn't fit into his mix but he pitched it way up and my night was made :)

Glad to hear you had such a great time in Toronto.

These canadians are chilled TO the max.... its bloody unbelievable..if ONLY we had quality vs quantity in this crappy assy new york college (rochester).... heh.. oh well....one problem though..its like...u get thrown to a point when u hit ur max and you wanna talk to people AND dance...yet u cant exactly do both...

anyway..whos going for tiesto live in concert...kinda scared about it...i mean...some people will die happy that day...very happy..
