About the violin... take my word for it, it was pre-recorded. He was doing a good job, and the bow was actually moving across the strings in sync with the music. But that's because he practiced this dozens of times with the same track earlier. The actual sound was coming out of the speakers though. |
like i said i talked to the guy and i asked him numerous times if it was live and he said YES it is live and hes been doing this in clubs all over NA for 10years
so who to trust the guy who actually played or the guy who "thinks" that hes not playing live
aslo grahams set wasnt complete
its not his fault there was a problem with the speakers plus he did drop some nice tunes..its jsut i was so exausted after IM i had to go outside to get fresh air so i missed a part of his set |

That was me :)
I went there for Armin with IM as a bonus. I Got IM with Armin as a bonus. They ing KILLED me, I don't think I stopped moving from the start of that set til the end. When they dropped Bust a Move, I almost died. I knew they wouldn't, but I was praying for None of this is Real... :( oh well, maybe next time ;)
Armin was great, but not what I was expecting, seemed a bit harder than I'm used to from him. I wanted that sweet uplifting trance I hear on the net streams! That, or maybe I was just REALLY messed up by then.
KT did an awesome job opening up too. |

wow...in this thread I have read some of the craziest I've ever seen on this board...some of it makes NO sense at all...drug and booze sales must have been good last night, lol...I won't quote anyone, but damn...SKETCH!!! :stongue:
Kenneth Thomas was dropping some big tracks that started the night off quite well...hope to hear more of him here soon (apparently he was signed to Armin's label?).
IM...just as they did earlier this year in KH, they really impressed me with an excellent live set...these guys have great energy and technically seem to be just brilliant...they really were scheduled too early though...I thought it was really odd that they didn't have Max, then IM, then Armin (???). That would have made for much better flow, I think...
Max...he generally doesn't wow me, although I have enjoyed him the few times that I've heard him...on the whole I just am not a huge fan of what he spins...but he was much better than I was expecting...really good stuff, fun set for the dancefloor!
Armin...I don't know what other parties people have been to this year...or how many other times they've heard him...but that was NOT EVEN CLOSE to one of "the best trance sets this year"...it wasn't even Armin's best set of the year, lol. I love the guy...he's my favourite DJ/producer...his set was good, but not great...I want at least a few "Armin" tracks! ie. more epic, uplifting trance and some vocals. He laid out a relatively heavy set (maybe becuase IM was on the bill?) He's always a lot fun to watch behind the decks though :)
Why this party definitely won't rank up with the best of the year though...the vibe and crowd. Holy @#$! , the crowd was *really* pissing me off as the night went on...I can't remember actually getting that annoyed while on the dance floor...crowding, I can work with that...but inconsiderate freaks pushing their way through the crowd CONSTANLY ALL NIGHT LONG...that was too much. FFS, at least try to stick to main traffic areas and then find a spot inside and just stay there and dance, chill, whatever. For a good chunk of the night it was impossible to get into a groove without being pushed around, with few people bothering to even look back and/or apologize...not cool at all :whip:
I guess it is one negative side effect of the non-smoking bylaw...so much traffic going to and from the patio...brutal...still nice to have fresher air inside and not leave reeking of smoke though.
I still had a good night...the sets were all good, just nothing particuarly memorable, IMHO. Always cool hanging with the usual crew and some new people...beanieboy, amb_, chrismack, Marc, Sean, Simon, Chris, Natalie...good times, as always! :) What a morning and afternoon...24 hours of good music and partying...still haven't slept...I think I may take tomorrow off from work...a "mental health day", as I like to call it :p
Nice to see some TAs...RJ (nice shirt, lol), Nat, the new blonde Graham ;) , Tordan...met theVrk, Frank, and Malek (briefly)...and a *big* thank you to the girl who gave me a copy of the Kenneth Thomas CD while out on the patio (I'm very sorry I forget your name!).

I'm convinced space and time collided and caused some sort of singularity, within which two alternate universes collided. Picture the ST:TOS ep where the evil Spock has a beard.
Those from both universes were present that evening, it would seem... hopefully not too many redshirts met their doom.
