I think his tracks being overplayed is actually just the consequence of them being so good, rather than the name Chable or the label they appear on. Which can IMO not be said about the great part of McProg artists...

And I got Steve May - Open day (Luke Chable's quakes & craters remix) on right now, most likely followed by his remix for Gwill Morris' Time, and after that The Shepherd. Three completely different productions, all showing his talent IMO! :)

I played his mix of Open Day last night at a breaks night. I still think I prefer the original though. Finally got my hands on The Shepherd recently too. Love that track. What about "One Day"? It's very different, with it's analog sounds. He really does have a vast variety of productions out there.

Bloodluck, Chable's. That's funny. I guess I know what you mean with it's ambient synths, but c'mon.

Chable & Bonicci - Ride

Unless you were joking.

I'm sure he wasn't joking. I think he's just narrow minded and wrong. Same guy that posted on "attention whoring" in the COR. :conf:

honestly i dont feel any of thoes are the "omfg" productions they are made out to be. They are solidly produced, but if you want to compair them to some of the best progressive tracks produced over the past fiew years i dont think they are remotely close. Ride imo is even a "filler" tipe track. It has a funky bassline, with an alright melody over it, but it doesnt go anywhere. I just like tracks with a bigger punch and better flow to them...

I guess that does depend on taste. I don't think Chable is *the* best producer out there, and he's neither too far from "mc/american/miami prog" while not being part of it. What pissed me off was saying he's a one hit wonder, when he has already a big bunch of tracks that were respected by a lot of people.

So, you like trance, then? Name some prog tracks that fall under the guidelines you just set, please. All I can say is that everytime I have dropped "Ride" out, at a club or party, people go crazy and they make their way to the dancefloor. If I can get that reaction from a track, I will play it, regardless of people on TA's opinions. But it is a question of taste. I can understand some people not liking it. Just don't tell me it's poorly produced.

Has anyone heard James Talk - "Eggs Are Cute"?

Nothing wrong with it, but the tracks I recognized seem more prog trance or pushing that borderline than true prog. Some good tracks on there though. Breeder is the , for sure. I need to get my hands on Philth.
