Totally agree on Monaco being boring for overtaking, etc...remember that race a few years ago when Coulthard was being held up by a (if I'm not mistaken) Renault? LOL just cuz of the tight circuit; otherwise it would've been more exciting...but last year when THERE you see Schumacher...and THERE you don't...that was pretty exciting; he crashed in the tunnel...pretty cool...(I'm so bad...)

I just love Monaco because I like following the driver's racing line through it; as I've done so many times on PS2 and PC...

Also, totally agree Orko, on the Richards fiasco...BAR makes me sick...ever since they had Villeneuve...I wish Honda stuck with Jordan...

I honestly cannot believe this race was sooo good!

Awsome action all race, and finally renault is getting facked up by the rest of the field. Screw flabio!

Ferrari kinda picked it up at the end of the race.

But the man of the hour. KIMI KIMI KIMI
Since is rookie year i have believed in this guy, and finally is getting a car he can use.

Yes, this was a good race indeed. I actually love Monaco, simply because it's a street circuit. The track, and the surroundings are very beautiful :toocool:. Since Monaco is so unpredictable, it makes it fun to watch.

I wouldn't be too serious about the results, as Monaco is an exception to all other circuits. In other words, it is not really representative of a team's or driver's performance on a regular circuit, although Kimi still managed an incredible race. 1 stop pit strategy, and he was setting blistering times. Much respect to Kimi, he is an amazing driver, and now has a car that is reliable.

Ferrari managed a bit of points, but they were still pretty far back. I know the season is still early, but I will go out on a limb, and say that Ferrari will not get constructor win this year, and Schumi won't get driver win. Imola seemed to be a lucky day for Ferrari, because since then, they have had trouble being competitive, both at Spain, and now here in Monaco. Granted, Monaco is all about qualifying, and neither Schumi nor Barichello qualified very well.

Trulli was a big dissapointment in the race. He dropped from 2nd place in the middle of the race, to a 10th place finish. No doubt he will take about car set up issues, or maybe he had some problem. It's almost frustrating, as Trulli complains almost every race about some problem or other. I mean how long will it take to get the car right in terms of setup and balance? Ralf had a fantastic race, started at the back, and moved up to finish 6th. Montoya did the same thing with a 5th place finish. To move so much, especially in Monaco, is amazing. Toyota did manage to grab some points with Ralf, but they are now in third place in constructor standings, with the BMW Williams team getting close.

It was a surprising showing from the BMW Williams team, with both cars getting podium finishes. It will be interesting if they can manage this on regular tracks, since this track is the exception to the season.

Toyota needs to do a lot of work to get back their 2nd place spot. They're still competitive, but are losing ground to other teams.

Very entertaining race this morning....
Raikonnen was untouchable.
Williams great showing.

Season becomes more and more interesting.

LOL! I KNEW you would love this!!! Yeah Toyota sucked ass...definite honourable mention to Ralf who came back after that terrible crash in qualifying. Can't wait till Honda comes back with a BANG...(lol! oops, engine blew up!!)

just as i suspected, Alanso had bad rear tire wear again. They just found the kink in their armor.

Indeed. It is amazing that the McLaren MP4-20 actually has too little tire wear, and the team is concerned about the tires being too cool instead of losing too much wear. The MP4-20 seems to be pretty untouchable, although Trulli showed some promising speed in the TF105 before he dropped off. Toyota's tire wear seems to not be nearly as bad as Renault's.

Well i have yet to watch the race, cause i honestly got way too wasted on saturday night, and went to sleep at 5am sunday morning!

Im downloading the race now, and should be able to watch soon.

I have read what happened though:
Kimi you have some bad luck, but for once, it was actually your fault. Being a conservative person, i would have pitted for new tires and settles for 3rd. 6 points are much better than 0. But Mclaren are proving that they are going for broke this season. THey have nothing to prove, considering they are the second most successful team in F1 history.

I guess Mclaren's other concern was that even if they did change tire, they would have explain to Charlie Whiting why, and let him inspect it. Im not sure if flat spotting a tire constitutes a 'damaged tire'.

It seems as if Fernando is proving himself as a very reliable driver, even though he did punt himself off the track, he still won.

Ferrari are on the upswing, with a combined 10 points. Roubino seems to think they will start to charge for the rest of the season, which i really hope they do. I honestly would like to see Ferrari back on top. They make awsome cars, have great personelle, and they have Schumi, god. Let him return to the top!

I too missed the race ... had work ... but from what I've read, McLaren got too cocky by not calling in Kimi to pit.

I give respect to McLaren for building such a radical chassis, but the problem is reliability is not there, and with the move to V8 engines, reliability will become an even bigger concern, with engines running at over 20,000 RPM.

Alonso seems to have showed he's not a one time winner, and that he can post consistent poles.

Toyota seems to have been a huge dissapointment, with Trulli's engine not firing up, and him getting a penalty due to the mechanics trying to fix it on the grid in the 15 sec time space. Considering the race was close to the Cologne HQ, it must have been a big failure in the eyes of Toyota personnel. Ralf did not even finish the race, and he was well got a penalty.

Williams BMW is now right on Toyota's ass in points, and Ferrari is back in the loop once again, so Toyota really needs a huge point boost ... I hope to see them regain 2nd place soon.

Ferrari had their best race yet this season, but it is important they don't get too cocky about it. Honestly, Ferrari's time is up, and I honestly do not want to see Ferrari dominating once again ... because it will bring A LOT of people and fans back down to reality and show Ferrari is not a god, and neither is Schumi.

I'd love to see Toyota end up at least 2nd this season, and Renault 1st, which would be a smack in the face to a lot of the older established teams. Too many fans, of Ferrari mostly, I see are way too cocky and ignorant, and it would put a smile on my face to see them shut up this season, and FOR ONCE give respect to another team, like Renault or Toyota.

Again, Toyota disappoints...I guess we're back to status quo.

And how can you say that Ferrari and Schumy are not Gods?!?!?! The one thing that Ferrari fans (no matter how much on the bandwagon some are) they're not ignorant to the fact that Ferrari is the only team to participate in F1 racing since its inception in 1950, is the most successful F1 racing team in history (most constructor titles - 14, most wdc - 14) and Schumy is the most successful F1 driver in history (most world driver championships - 7). You would be ignorant not to acknowledge their supremacy and the fact that if they continue to spend on their cars and drivers the way they do their success will continue LONG into the future!!

Orko, Ferrari is coming back to hand everyone their asses back to them...but I respect Renault a TON and if anyone should win it other than Ferrari it's Renault IMO because I also LOVE Renault cars...I support teams that have a personal connection with me...and yes I did several research projects on Ferrari in high school and uni so although I don't own one (yet) that's why I'm a HUGE fan!!!

Also, if any Japanese company is going to rise up to the occasion by the end of the season we all know it's HONDA. hehehehe
