the greatest team the premeriership and europe has ever seen, chelsea have been tearing up domestic and european competiton with considerable ease. a solid wall in defence, great determination, work rate, guile and skill in midfield, and blistering pace up front, has pundits questioning whether this chelsea team is even better than the great brazilian side of 1970.

still on course for over 100 points in the prem, and the record breaking chance of conceding the least goals in a season, chelsea are almost assured the title in 2004-2005. im sure this will not be the last either.

a comfortable win in the carling cup agaisnt liverpool has already given the great tactician mourinho his first piece of silverware at the club, and the way chelsea are performing in the champions league, chelsea will stop at nothing until the 2004-2005 treble dream is achieved. the 4-2 annihilation of barcelona showed that teams tremble with the fear of coming to the stamford bridge fortress.

even uefa are trying to hinder chelseas progress. it doesnt matter if uefa clone 3 anders frisks for referees and linesman for the remaining champs league games, chelsea will overcome the evil. we will see u ac milan in the final.

Haven't heard anyone comparing Chelsea to the 1970 Brazil side! It would be a silly comparison.

The "treble dream" was actually a "quadruple dream" until Newcastle knocked them out of the FA Cup, and the win over Liverpool a week after that wasn't exactly "comfortable" as it went into extra time. The Barcelona game also went right to the wire in the second half so I wouldn't exactly call that an "annihilation", and Chelsea were thoroughly outplayed in the first leg.

Don't get me wrong, Chelsea are a great side, the best in England at the moment. I think they will beat Bayern Munich but it'll be tight because Bayern are solid defensively as they showed against Arsenal. I think it is the Italian teams who will give Chelsea big problems because they are so used to counter-attacking football and can absorb a lot of pressure.

I'd hardly call them the greatest team in the world after one successful season.

You would have lost if it wasn't for a freakish own goal from Gerrard. You sound like Arsenal supporters from last year....one good season and you think your the best team of all time.

I don't see the Red Wings anywhere in here..

liverpool scored a freakishly early goal than tried to sit back nad defend. they shat there pants as we bombarded their goal. as soon as we equalised we were home and dry.

chelsea have an air of greatness about them. we are invincible.

The Red Wings aren't even the greatest team in hockey history. Montreal and Toronto have more Cups than them.

And Chelsea are a great team but the season isn't over yet.

:haha:

its bad enough that you support a team thats only had one good season due to having bottomless pockets of money but to claim that a player who has had just one good month after spending a large part of 2 seasons on the bench is the greatest playmakers in the world makes it obvious you were an arsenal supporter last season and manchester united man the year before that
