Listened to the CD, I like the first CD's tracks, mixing on both CD's leave a lot to be desired... |
And I really can't understand it!, Can't understand the order of this tracklist either.
I went to the ISOS 4 Release party last friday and the mixing was SUPERB (I mean.. like WOW!!!), and the order of the tracks he played made more sense as well.
Guess he had a 'total blackout' when he made the CD ;) I still love it though :) |

| I agree with all this critical review and I'm very disapointed about this CD as Well!! The track order is not progressive at all and means nothing, the pitch :whip: what's this!! Tracks on both CD don't exeed 134bpm and usualy Tïesto play the same track at 140bpm!!! I am thinking if someone elese mixed this CD for Tïesto, maybe a sound engeneer :( It can't be Tiësto, if it's him, I hope he will not produce another Mixing CD, and just play in Club or event ;) That's what he is N°1 |

He just gave them the tracks and someone else mixed it, they wanted it released ASAP, etc, so they just quickly mixed the tracks without REALLY going in there and tweaking the transitions, thats why you hear all kinds of things clashing, etc, a dissapointment, I guess, but most of us expected it. |

you guys never heard Tijs his older mix cds i assume?? on Innercity99 he also had these very short transitions and actually i like it very much, it helps maintaining a constant flow :)
|
In ISOS 2, you can start to hear Max Graham's "Airtight" when there is aout 35 or 40 seconds left of Breeder's "Tyrantnic [Slacker's Kingdom Come Mix]". you can still maintain a constant flow without mixing tracks at the last 5 seconds or so. :) |

Man this song is incredible!!! Does anybody else like this song. Could even take one of the best tracks on there. A dub would be even better!!!! |
you guys gotta be ing kidding me! this is probably the worst track i've ever heard tiësto spin. it's just awful. how do the vocals fit? NOT AT ALL! are the vocals even in key or in tempo? i don't think they are, because they sound so ing out of place on this tune that it makes me cringe BAD. tiësto played this track when he was on a gig here in finland and boy did it suck. i just can't understand this tune at all. if it were an instrumental the track would be great as i like the guitar on it pretty much, but the vocals DON'T FIT AT ALL!
i liked the original though, but this is by far a huge mistake from junkie xl. i hope this never gets released, because if djs all over will start playing this, because it's tiësto and jxl, i'll ing lose it. so to say it again:
"ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PIECE OF CRAP"
won't comment on the cd yet though, as i've only listened through it briefly and can't really comment yet, but it had some nice tracks and some not so nice transitions, that's all i can say for now. |

I agree 100% I really hoped this would be great before I heard it, but when I did...
The vocals are soo timestretched its downright silly!
as skip said: an instrumental could be really good but the vocals totally destroy it (I liked the original tune by the way). |

guess that tune is a yay or nay.
personally, i find the vocals great because of the same reason that you find them bad. i think its nice not to hear this 100% perfected studiorecorded femalevoice which you can predict the first time you hear the tune.
i'd say these vocals differs a little, and are less predictable. |

i like the vocals myself too, but they don't fit in the junkie xl remix at all, not in any way. they must be somehow out of key or out of pitch or tempo or out of something on the jxl remix, they just sound so out of place. i cannot understand how someone can like this, i simply cannot. and i very much doubt it's because of my ears, could be though, but i doubt it. they just sound so wrong. i'm happy to be proven wrong or right on this one by someone who knows musical technology and stuff like that a lot.
