I agree... with "like a waterfall" a close second. Electronic Pulse - White Noise is cool too... reminds me of "White Room" by Andy Moor... i wonder if its a coincidence

I seriously thought complimation was a joke! Ya know, when some bedroom dj records a mix then puts it up for download as "Tiesto - ISOS 4"? The mixing was rather tragic, the flow was ok but at times I asked myself where is he going and the track selection is flat out bizzare. It really seems like he just slapped together a few tracks and said "here!" This doesn't have the typical ISOS feel and besides a few cool tracks, it's nothing more then a live set.

As for people defending his mixing, get serious, it's pure ! Example, Twelve into My World is just hilarious, it sounds like he just learnt to beatmatch! Please don't reply back saying "Tiesto isn't known for his mixing". I just about half his mixes, he brings the cued track in sloppy and off beat. Some of the better mixes are still even not very smooth and leave to wonder what drug he was on when he recorded this?True professionals (no matter what industry their in) work hard at what they do and Tiesto has certainly lost all the respect (not that he had a whole lot coming for me) I had for him after putting his name on this complimation.

LNQ - People I Used To Know and Odyssee - Evolution are the only bright spots on these discs for me.

Wow...
Some seriously mixed reviews on this CD :nervous: I haven't been able to find it in the States yet, or in my area atleast... I think i will still end up purchasing it when i find it to finish up my ISOS collection though ;) Will post a review once i source it.

I bought it last night, and as much as it pains me to say this after all the I've talked about Tie$to.....I kind of actually like it. The mixing isn't great, but nothing he's ever done has been known for how it was mixed. The collection of songs is a little different from what I figured he would have gone with, but the overall flow of both discs is great.

I'm wondering if someone finally told him he didn't make it to #1 because he was a good producer. :haha: I'd give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. It's definately got more of a chillout feel too it than I expected, but as I already mentioned, I like it.

I've got to say that this is a really awesome CD. I just picked it up from Borders yesterday, after going back and forth there for a few days looking for it. I finally bought the only copy they had. I kind of wish some of the tracks were a little longer, like he could have cut some tracks in it and made each CD like 10 to 12 tracks long. I am just into hearing more complete tracks rather than edits, but the vast majority of the songs were very good. I have already been enjoying certain tracks from the CD on vinyl, like "Why" by Ahmet Ertenu, "People I Used To Know" by LNQ and i'm awaiting "Beyond"
by Leon Boiler, "La Noche" by Coca & Vila, "Palma Solane" by Estuera vs. Re:Locate, "Moments" by Tone Depth & Sultan, and "Sounds Rushing" by Dominic Plaza. All of the In Search Of Sunrise CDs in my opinion have been good, and I am a bigger fan of this series than his Magik series. I love the uplifting, melodic and dreaminess of the ISOS CDs, but it would be cool to hear his next CD display his darker and techier side.

A very good mix, even for Tiesto. The difference between this and the earlier ones is that there is not the slow intro, gradual buildup and then peak. It's a little more upbeat than the earlier ones as well. It's pretty steady throughout each disc. Overall though, great track selection, decent mixing, and nice flow. As with the rest of the series, I can easily listen to them all from start to finish.

ahhhhhhh what happened!?!?!?!?

I just got my copy of ISOS 4 today.

two things that i think make the In Search of Sunrise series so great is the beginning and the ending. the beginnings were always so dreamy, so moving, so slow and melodramatic. they always set such a great mood for the whole score. and the endings were always so climatic and explosive: Sparkles [Magikal Remake], Airtight, and Personal Reflexion were all the best endings to any compilation i've ever heard. and they all ended on a single solid note. but these two things make ISOS for me - the middle could be crap as long as it started and ended on a great note.

and what do we have here? Like a Waterfall was a huge disappointment to me - the vocals just annoying. Palma Solane is OK. it's more upbeat than in previous beginnings and i can deal with that - it has a good mood to it, but still nothing like before. and for some reason is sounds like it goes out of key sometimes?

and the ending? Only One [Rave Mix] is hardly explosive and it FADES OUT!!! WHY?!?!?! :whip: very disappointed with that. but Perfect Silence [one of my favorite tracks of all time] is a decent one. Although I think it would have been better if the tempo wasn't slowed down as much.

so yeah, CD2 starts out better than CD1, but CD1 ends better than CD2. go figure. but i'm still disappointed overall that my favorite parts of what makes ISOS so great for me were no where near what they could have been.

I just got ISO4 when it came out in the US on June 21. I am very dissapointed. I think its the worst one of the series. I have ISOS3 and 4 in my car now and I'd still rather listen to 3 even thouigh I've heard it about 200 times. The mixing in 4 isn't very good. I wouldn't buy it if I were you guys.
