Tiesto is number 1 because DJ MAG is now a shameless PR stunt, depending on who can get the most people to vote for you. Tho that does not really matter because it's who is number in your books that counts and people won't agree with them but them. I won't defend nor trash Tiesto, I've seen him at his best and at his worst live. The DJ MAG has become pathetic and lame and you know what really matters, what you personally think because you make your own decisions. So to those who say armin is the best, good, pvd, fine, tiesto..up to you.
have a nice day

see really this is the reason sasha won't be #1 again...
people like yourself probably haven't heard a sasha set since like 2001... i agree there was a part of sasha's near distant past where he played pretty boring prog...but that time has been over for a good year now and what he's been playing...in my opinion...has more energy and is better than every trance dj out there...
so really...even if people haven't liked sasha in the past because of the deep proggy stuff...people should really give him a chance these days...he's definitely playing at #1 caliber these days... |
this is not true. I have seen sasha 6 times in the past 6 months. Damn, he killed me. BORING. How many chances should i give him to finally convince me that he is more than one tune? no more for me. |

Same here. I got off my ass and saw him this past new years day. He was kind enough to have a small conversation with my girlfriend while he was mixing when she got his autograph. That's the sign of a dj that gives a about his fans. We went to the same venue to see Tiestor, and he had a big sheet over the back of the dj booth, and never talked to any of his fans unless you count the sluts in the dj booth. If you wanted an autograph you had to go through someone in his entourage first, and then if they felt like it they would get him to sign it. I saw plenty of people turned away. :rolleyes: |
well, nice to meet you hahahah i guess i'm one of the Biatches in a Tiesto's booth (as well as in Armin's and Ferry's and Johan's and many others). Everyone handles fans differently. Armin might have exceptional patience, Ferry is just a sweetheart but Tijs is different as everyone here. Can we just accept this?! |

| Tiesto is the number one DJ because he and his agent/manager are masters of marketing. Its not due to talent that is better than anyone elses, but he has mastered the art of promoting himself. Ive also noticed that people who are just getting into trance tend to lean towards Tiesto style trance. I was at Ultra and all of my friends who had never been exposed to a live trance set or almost trance in general all said they liked Tiesto the best. Dont know why but thats what they said. |

hrm, seeing how he has a residency here every 2 months, and he played down in wmc, you should stfu.
Jason:::
Both Sasha & Zabi put me to sleep the last time I saw them... You should stop whoreing them.;) I mean it is also just as easy looking back and saying that Oaki played boring prog for years as well. Sasha's attack to playing boring for a while then dropping a neat track does not work with many genres. Fortunately Prog is one of them. You can strait up play something monotone & repetitive for a good thirty to fourty five minutes, then drop something sick. Because it basically "mind-s" you. And you can do it again, and again, and it actually works & sounds amazing due to the structure of the tracks that he is playing. With prog, the second you hear another bassline come in over the previous one, it just picks you up, and carries you to the next transition. Now he is attempting to play a less "hypnotizing & mind controlling" style the same way, as he does prog, and it is just dull at the moment. At least for me. Im sure when Sasha goes on to change his style once again, people will just look back and say, he is much better now then when he played all that weird electro stuff.
Good listening, not the greatest dancing, but thats just me. Im glad you all like him. To say that he has more energy then the trance djs out there, well id have to admit that even Tiesto & armin probably have more energy. I mean it has been maybe a hear and a half to two years since I have gone to a Sasha club night where he had the croud really moving well. And that is all enough proof for me. I mean the crouds presence has basically been non-existant.
I havn't really felt any need to get up and start dancing when ive heard recent Sasha stuff. Even if i get going, it doesn't seem to go anywhere. I mean im still amazed that people think Involver is a "dancy/clubby cd."
on Tiesto, its easy to bash him, seeing as he is a gimp. But to all you stupid clueless s that think he wrecks every mix, you have got to get a clue. If any of you would get out and go to a club, you would know why. |
