repetetive sounds like a term someone who dosent know dick about electronica would say, i.e "i dont like techno, its too repetetive" ive heard it a thousand times.
as for hypnotysm, same thing can apply with trance. trance = hypnotic, semicounsious state. Like when youre listening to a tiesto set and jumping around dancing your ass off. Then suddenly the E wears off and you try to think what have you been dancing to the past hour. :tongue2
kiddin, but yeah.
|
what don't you understand? Progressive house & progressive trance, repeat measure to measure. The repitition, and addition of layers is what makes it difference from house & trance. Trance music right now is a misnomer, because the producers forget why they are producing. Can you name a recent trance track that put you in a "Trance"?

it may not matter to you but it does to me.

If complexity matters to you, please show some examples.

i dont think Sasha made involver as a cd "someone could dance to". And its not even that recent, its almost a year old. I saw him spin at the AAA ultra7 afterparty and i danced my ass off, they were both banging. You dont really like his Orlando set, as youve stated before, but i really enjoyed it, and love his trackselection in it. I wouldve definitely dancing if i were there, non stop. To add, they spun in Argentina a couple of weeks back, and my friend told me they were insane.
|
i dance when i see him as well...
| quote: |
yeah yeah but whats boring to you might not be boring to me.
|
you make it seem like boring is a bad thing
| quote: |
well youre probably right..if you go see tiesto chances are the crowd is bouncing by default all the time. However ide rather go see Sasha expecting quality tunes, mixing and which ill probably be bouncing all the time as well..like i said, whats energetic to some does not apply to everyone. ide sit a tiesto set just like you would at a sasha set.
|
the difference between "danceablitiy" and energy are two totally different things. For example some people would rather play FIFA, and some would rather play soccer.
| quote: |
we both agreed that its not a dancy cd. It dosent mean you cant dance to it though.
|
i never said you couldn't, But compair it to the stuff on the Xpander Ep. |

Wow, so we've concluded that Tiesto is the best DJ because he spins stuff 15 BPM faster than Sasha.

works better when you make your statements clearer right? progressive = repetetive is so vague.

no i couldnt, i havent listened to trance in years
| quote: | | If complexity matters to you, please show some examples. |
examples of what i find complex? on electronica i listen to or on sasha? Well about sasha recently, his sets are more complex with the use of ableton live and maven. Why? his able to remix the track his playing anyway he pleases, adding elements, prolonging breakdowns, sampling, looping; all of these things make his sets more complex.
| quote: | | i dance when i see him as well... |
i cant be ed searching up a comment you made a while ago about sasha putting you to sleep in all his sets, even in clubs.
| quote: | | you make it seem like boring is a bad thing |
i didnt know it was a good thing to be bored

i dont understand the point your trying to get accross here. I already said that even though something might be more energetic, it dosent mean ide dance to it.

why dont we compare of of sashas stuff while were at it? Hes always been evolving musically, theres no point in comparing. Either you like his stages or you dont. |

electronica you listen to. I never said tiesto was more complex.

He does, when i saw him last month, I was one of the only people that were dancing.

Yep. Boring is key, you said it your self. Build is essential for a good set(in your opinion). If you start interesting and end interesting it may not do much. If you start boring and end boring it also may not do much. A key factor in many sets is the difference between the two.
That is why I can not take Armin one bit. Its the same thing over and over and over and over and over...
The good DJs realize this. Sometimes you have to use tracks as tools & instruments to set up the next track. It works much better. Most people dont have the ability to pick this up. If I play something semi flat and boring then drop an amazing track, it makes the amazing track even more amazing, then if I played two amazing tracks in a row.
For example Sashas most "energetic" track may not even come close to the opening track that Tiesto may drop. Which is what makes Tiesto, Tiesto. Like it or not.

|
just that the fact that if people like dancing to energetic & uplifting music they will Prefer Tiesto as a DJ. Thus is why tiesto is #1 |
