that is the prime reason why threads like this are made... |

The question you need to be asking is, why is this poll in existence?
I don't know of other genres that have an annual poll such as this? Are there trance music awards?
Why does every thread involving Tiesto, PvD or AvB end up in a who is better than whom?!! I've never known different on here, so I'm going to say PvD should be! Why is Tiesto top? 'cos he's the biggest name in trance, even if he beats PvD by a few mentions in magazine publications.
When it comes to criteria, I don't think it matters how you mix, whether you use a Windows 98 mix wizard or vinyl, it's the sound that comes out that matters.
I really don't think this poll really matters.
People listen to who they like 'cos of the simple reason that they like them, and this chart should not influence what they listen to.
I think Ultrabeat should be #1 :D |

| Its funny how all these "sasha is boring" comments come from Nu NRG, Darude and Tiesto fans. It dosent suprise me they would see Sasha as boring since they dont have the slighest ing clue of whats being played through the speakers. |

Omg teh 1337... Ive probably listened to much more Sasha then you so save it for someone else...
Ive clearly posted my opinions about him, and have supported them. All you can do is try to bash me cause you think I only listen to Da Rude. Go ahead and do that as much as you want, if it gives you self fulfillment. Or you can actually try to back up your statements, which is probably never going to happen. |

At present I'm not a fan of any of those three. But I still think Sasha is pretty boring right now. |

well, nice to meet you hahahah i guess i'm one of the Biatches in a Tiesto's booth (as well as in Armin's and Ferry's and Johan's and many others). Everyone handles fans differently. Armin might have exceptional patience, Ferry is just a sweetheart but Tijs is different as everyone here. Can we just accept this?! |

hrm, seeing how he has a residency here every 2 months, and he played down in wmc, you should stfu.
Jason:::
Both Sasha & Zabi put me to sleep the last time I saw them... You should stop whoreing them.;) I mean it is also just as easy looking back and saying that Oaki played boring prog for years as well. Sasha's attack to playing boring for a while then dropping a neat track does not work with many genres. Fortunately Prog is one of them. You can strait up play something monotone & repetitive for a good thirty to fourty five minutes, then drop something sick. Because it basically "mind-s" you. And you can do it again, and again, and it actually works & sounds amazing due to the structure of the tracks that he is playing. With prog, the second you hear another bassline come in over the previous one, it just picks you up, and carries you to the next transition. Now he is attempting to play a less "hypnotizing & mind controlling" style the same way, as he does prog, and it is just dull at the moment. At least for me. Im sure when Sasha goes on to change his style once again, people will just look back and say, he is much better now then when he played all that weird electro stuff.

well if you guys have experienced sasha's new style and don't find it great...that's perfectly fine and i won't try and convince you. but i have a feeling that many people are judging him by his past and probably haven't giving him a chance these days because of it. if you don't like it you don't like it, but just as i have my opinions about markus, armin, tiesto...etc. i think that i'm very justified in my reasons because i listen to a lot of their stuff still and have maintained that same opinion ya know. i think people that just have an idea about a dj, but can't necessarily say they've recently listened to a set by them...or seen them live...i don't really think they should be judging those dj's.
and sandstorm...
i gotta admit i'm one of those people that didn't really like sasha's really proggy years...i don't like really proggy music. i know that this electro sound is pretty trendy and popular right now, but i think my history in listening to music would explain why i like it. the influences on this new sound are clearly things that i've listened to in the past so i still think i'll love it when its time is long gone... |

cool go out and enjoy it ;) . I still had a prety good nights when Ive seen him, he just didn't keep me going. It didn't seem like it was going anywhere. Im just not really a fan of the "loddy doddy" music that doesn't do much. |

ok, i dont really know what you listen to, im going to assume its not prog since you have a really shallow understanding of it, to deduct the paragraph; prog to you is "monotone & repetetive". Then you say its good due to the structure of the tracks? how can the structure of something that is "monotone and repetetive" sound amazing?
Ill have to disagree with you since i see progressive house, much more complex than uplifting trance. Why? we could go on about it forever and you would probably still think its "monotone and repetetive" thats how useless it is debating with you.
| quote: | | Good listening, not the greatest dancing, but thats just me. |
exactly, its you. You cant really dance to something you dont feel. But i didnt know we were arguing about whats good for dancing and what isnt?
| quote: | | id have to admit that even Tiesto & armin probably have more energy. |
more energy? as in their sets are more energetic? technically yes, as Do i get more energy from their sets than i do from a Sasha set? no, i find a greater feeling in a set that slowly builds me up and rips it by the end than track after track of 140+bpm nonsense thats good for dancing and thats as far as it got me.
| quote: | | I havn't really felt any need to get up and start dancing when ive heard recent Sasha stuff. Even if i get going, it doesn't seem to go anywhere. |
like i said, you cant dance to music you dont understand or feel.

i would be amazed if anyone thought involver is a dancy clubby cd as well.

Your entitled to your opinion so whatever, im not going to try and change it.
Actually i wasnt pointing to you about Darude, Sveta actually has it in her profile. The fact that you are sandstorm03 is a coincidence that actually strengthed my point of "Nu Nrg, Tiesto, and Darude fans thinking Sasha is boring"
Cobalt proved me that not only Nu Nrg, Tiesto and Darude fans think Sasha is boring though.

| well there really isn't any need to try and convince sandstorm to agree with sasha fans...he checked it out...its not his thing...and that's fine. |
