that's what i'm saying too...i'm not much of a Bush fan, and to be perfectly honest, i'm a bit ignorant in all that happened with him (i'm not at that stage yet where i want to follow politics, but i'm starting to show more of an interest), but i mean c'mon...i knew that would be brought up...it's tired. |
Exactly, I am a huge Bush critic but the huge anti-Bush this and that is really beyond logic in the area of terrorism. It existed long before Bush as we all know and will do so long after he is gone. The question is what do we do about it. The only solace that can be taken out of today is that the figures weren't higher, at least for now. I hope it stays that way. What I would like to know is that when will the Arab world stand up and say not in our name and to stop hijacking the Islamic religion to murder others in the name of God.
Some unknown group with a name longer than the length of the Great Wall of China claims it is time to rejoice, the British are in a state of panic, and more is in line for other European countries, Denmark and Italy, against the crusaders, blah, blah, blah. What a bunch of ing cumstains. These people cannot be reasoned with because they enjoy watching the barbarity of their actions, to think that they are somewhere now in a flat in London or Britain enjoying their act, is that human. |

| I haven't read any of the other posts in this thread, but my thoughts and prayers to all those in London... just sad. |

The BBC has only confirmed 2 dead.
There are reports of up to 45 dead :( :(
Some people i know on the SXOC forum said that 2 confirmed dead is bollocks. His office is opposite Aldgate Station and there were at least 5 bodybags there :( |

i saw this on the news this morning. i hope everyone over there is alright. its just sickening what these people are willing to do. they are nothing but a bunch of attention whores.
on the news they were talking about this, the madrid bombings and 9/11 and how the attacks all started at approximately 8:49 a.m. tony blair gave what appeared to be a quick speech (although they might have caught the feed halfway through), but his speech was very good and calming to the people. |

Well I am off to bed, I work the 3rd shift, 11pm - 7am, for the IRS here in the US. I am normally on the Texas TA side of this board but even though this is a horrific event, I feel a little closer with you all that are affected by this event.
To the great country across the pond that gave birth to my nation, I salute you and your people. your history has seen plenty of horrific events, and like a true champ, you always come out on top. To the ones that feel confused and sick, take care and keep your chin up, freedom will over come all odds and these cowards will pay soon for thier actions for today's events.
Take care all, and
God Bless America and God Save the Queen!!!
:)

A quote from Spanish PM Jose Luis Zapatero
| quote: |
Spain has suffered the scourge of terrorism for decades and on 11 March last year it was the victim of the most horrific attack recorded until then in Europe.
For that reason, we, the Spanish people, well understand the suffering that today the British people are undergoing.
We share their pain intensely, just as they and so many other peoples of the world did with us on other occasions. |
And European Parliament President Josep Borrell
| quote: | As president of parliament and a citizen of a country [Spain] that only last year experienced the horrors of such terrible attacks, I want to send a message of solidarity with British people.
We all stand with you, British people, and we will never let atrocities or terrorism defeat the values of peace and democracy. |
