just wanted to add my two cents/pence so excuse me if this is a little too sentimental and over-emotional for your tastes. i am not writing in direct attack of anyone here, just need to get this off my chest.
don't know if any other TA here is in the same predicament as me, but I was also studying in new york when 9/11 happened almost 4 years ago....and the events of this morning was just a little too similar for comfort. i was on a train at waterloo coming back to southampton this morning and didn't even find out what happened till i got back as all fone lines were down. if i had left my friend's house any later this morning, i guess i would've been stuck in london right now.
it pains me greatly to know that on saturday (the live8 concert for raising poverty awareness), a large population of the world can come together for a great cause only to be ruined by the selfish motives of a select few. i don't care what they believe their mission is, to strike at the general public of any country which carries views you do not believe in is outright immoral and unjust. i don't care what greater cause they may think they have, i can see no rational reasoning or logical explanation in how blowing up buses and trains in public areas will advance their cause. sure, the world may now know your existence, but i fail to see how you have convinced people that you are in the right.
i truly wish that one day the human race can resolve their differences....not be the same mind you, but just to be able to co-exist and accept that we ARE different. i know i am lucky that both today here in the UK and on 9/11 in NY, i didn't know anyone that was hurt....but to have to endure twice what i perceive as unforgivable toying with human life for selfish causes both pisses me off and saddens me at the same time.
my heart goes out to those who have and are affected more by today's event then i am. i'm by no means religious, but my thoughts and prayers are with you tonight. |

sad that you guys got attacked...but i guess if anything good comes out of this...maybe it will be a stronger push from more nations to stop terrorism...

just to add here - i've met the guy & there is nothing wrong with him, he's a top lad & is a good brother, as anyone would be in these situations, show some brains at least, there's no need to troll in situations like this, it's just low |

If I remember rightly the Omagh bomb, the IRA phoned where the location of the bomb was, the people were moved to the town centre where the real bomb was...and therefore 29 people were killed. So you are the one talking through your arse, so why don't you off. Don't try and defend the IRA on this thread, they have done things like this - whether they did give a warning or not whenever they bombed, I don't give a , they still did the bombings.
So why don't YOU piss off this thread if you wish to defend terrorists...you bitter republican twat. |
