Your post is incorrect. The expression you are using should be reserved for instances where the one who gave rise to the situation knew or ought to have known the eventual consequence. There is no way that those who first sought to colonize the Arabian peninsula could have possibly forseen that their actions would have created this sort of reaction. Moreover, you are forgetting the intentions of those that started us down the path that has lead to the hatred and annamosity the Islamic extremists feel toward us. Believe it or not those Victorian minded persons that colonized the Arabic world believed that they were acting in the best interest of the local residents as well as themselves. How were they to know that the pervasiveness of European and later North American culture would so frighten these people that they would lash out against us in this manner. IF blame is to be placed anywhere it should be with those that misunderstand the Qu'ran so badly that they believe it is Allah's will that they strike out with violence against people that are obstensively children of the same god.
Your post is one of ignorance... if you do not understand the historical factors that have led us to this you really should not speak out of turn. |

I have a lot of respect for you, but not in this case mate. It's not the answer, if it was it would've been done by now, but theres people in or from the middle east even on this board who are totally cool people, you don't think of them as being different, but in the world theres millions more like them who are innocent in this all & want it to end like it, Fanaticism is in all religions & the only way to eradicate it is to stand up against it, unite, and just deal with whoevers responsible in the appropriate manners, not what everyone wants, but if what you said would happen it'd be a hell of a lot worse imho |

An illogical response. If it is our way of life they seek to destroy we cannot allow ourselves to forsake our values in order to fight them. Killing millions of people just because they live in an area of the world where these militants happen to hail from would go against all that we as people value. If we do that then they will have succeeded in destabalizing our society, which is their ultimate goal. Besides, not all the terrorists are in the middle east, those who survive will rise up and those that formerally did not support the terrorists certainly would as a reactionary measure to the autrocities we unleased in retaliation. |

fine.. be emotional, but understand that you are in an incapable state of coming to rational decisions if you decide to let emotion dictate. Let it all out.. be worried for your friends and loved ones (there is nothing wrong with that) but only resume the decision making process once you've come to. |

very true, however, the fact remains that the present situation was not forseeable by those that laid the foundation for it, therefore, the "chickens coming home to roost" post was unfounded. |
