You start by abandoning the believe that you cannot work with such people.
My personal thinking is that the only way to win a war that is essentially a battle for the hearts and minds of a people is to win the support of the people. If Western culture were to gain universal acceptance throught the muslim world then the terrorism would stop as there would be nothing left to fight for. Failing that, if the bulk of the population in the muslim world were to believe that our existance does not pose a threat to them and were to reject the idea that violence against us is acceptable then it would make it very difficult for the terroists to operate and every attack would only further alienate those whom they wish to "protect". As to how you accomplish either of these I cannot say as I do not have a complete enough understanding of that region to propose methods that would work, however, I can say that military action will only deepen the ill will toward us. |

Whoever did this, whether it be Islamic extremists, ethnic separatists or just plain psychos (or God forbid, all of the above), they're nothing but a bunch of s - wit unholy cowardly killers. And I hope that they get what is coming to them, even if it takes a hella long time. :mad: :whip:
My sympathies and prayers go to the families and friends of those who were lost in this act of cowardice. :( |
