AHAHAHAHAHA its not leaked. for sure. a month before the original release. hahaha
ok, on to the CD..
I think the track selection is pretty nice, a few tracks that I have not heard before which is really nice. Mixing, some parts it sounds pretty good but in other parts mehh.. not so good, like the transition from Late Night Alumni - Empty Streets to Electric Promt - Beside Me (Gothek DC Remix) was ing bad....
I think im gonna enjoy this CD, a few mishaps here and there but i relly like the track selection since im a proghead.
remember, tiestor is still new to Ableton ..

I have obtained the full album of ISOS5:LA of Tiesto and I can say that it is like ISOF4 which is full of Melodic/Vocal Trances although there are some Housy sounds. Mixing is very good, I have no negative reaction for that but I guess he will not succeed the boost which everyone has been in expectation for. In my opinion, it is another ISOS, but nothing special. If Tijs tries to compete within "Trance" then ASOT2006 and L.E.F Albums would not even let ISOS5 to have a word in that arena, at least not for 2006. |

sounds like ISOS5 is like the privious part 4, but with better mixing. so I really don't get what is so negative about ISOS5!? I was really happy with part 4, except for the mixing. I think it was one of the best trance mix-cds last year, maybe it was not like part 1, but it was still on a level with ASOT2005 and POD2.

Au au au I am a great admirer of Tiesto (ISOS 2 was superbly mixed and it was Live turntable, best mix compilation ever) and I hate to say it but I am afraid people are right this time : the mixing is awful. I only listened to cd 1 which seemed promising but if this really is the real deal cd than it is a shame.
Overall there is not really one ISOS2 kind of transition, on ISOS2 Tiesto takes the time for the transitions and sometimes a new track was already audible in a subtle way in the background 30 seconds to a minute before the real transition. Here on the first cd of ISOS5 he is in a rush or just simply too late.
The transition from the Mark Norman track (nr 2 into nr 3) to the Late night alumny track has been discussed a couple of times already but that one, I am sorry to admit, really is awful. When listening to it I felt like Tiesto was in the midst of a conversation or having a drink and then all of a sudden thought "oh dear jolly I have to mix the next track in" :D He clearly is way too late.
Same applies in my opinion for number 8 into number 9 where he just lets the whole flow and energy of the Karen Overton track die before number 9 really kicks in.
yes of course there are some beautiful tracks and even a couple of okay transitions which seem seamless (number 9 into 10 or even the two Matthew Dekay contributions) but overall with some of these big mistakes it just does not sound anything like Tiesto of the Magiks and ISOS 1 ,2 and 3 cd's.
Now I could also try to believe that this is a fake cd but of course it isn't, this is the real deal no DJ on earth could have these exact tracks especially since some of the tracks are not available anywhere yet.
So overall I am disappointed to say the least upon first hearing. I will listen to the whole cd later tonight again perhaps the tracks themselves save the cd from drowning.
Of course also I have not heard cd 2 yet, I will do that in a moment but for the time being I thought I'd report my findings here LoL
I think the last two cd's were not live turntable mixes and that is why they are so mediocre. |

| Oke. Now after second release I believe it's not fake... guess I hoped too much for another ISOS I, II, III or Magik release....damn  |

samples available here CLICK
review based only on samples!!
I have now finished listening to the samples of CD1. judging by track selection, CD1 could not have been any better than this. much better than ISOS4, CD1 of ISOS5 > both CDs of ISOS4.
now lets hope the mixing is not as worse as people say, then this mix cd can be really outstanding.
ah I finished also CD2: hardly any vocals on CD2, that's sad. seems like CD1 is better than CD2. |

Armin drops Du What U Du on ASOT2006. That's enough for me to not even listen to the album. |

There are many fusses around and nobody knows what he will include in ASOT2006. I have no doubt that he will succeed again..Definitely a better "Trance" Compilation if you rather to listen to "The Sound of Tiesto"! |
