yeah he does do that way too much. I remember on Nyana, Ambush - Acauplco literally played for less than 2 minutes. It was a massive track but he hardly got into it at all. |

In his defence - he'd used it all through summer 2002 before Nyana came out. So it was a bit old on him.
Plus the start to Nyana disc 1 was to reflect a changing style - it shows a gradual techy build into Obsession. Live with it :)
Please lay into ISOSV all you like - but leave Ambush tracks Tijs played out alone hehe :disbelief |

I liked the track a lot and it still works in Nyana, but it could have gone on longer. Even the original cut is only about 6 minutes though. I still play it.
oh, is that you RVK? Bratislava these days eh? |

still remembering the Gouryella moment in Toronto when we came over :D :eyes:
If only his mix cd's still reflected that kind of quality. |

I know mate. And I didn't even take E in those days.:D I probably would have died had I been on it then.;)
Tiesto's cd's aren't as good as they used to be, but alot of that is because there's a lot of crappy trance out there right now. Maybe that's why Tiesto tried more of a housier edge on this one. |

He can get away with the new style because he no longer has winter-time.
Touring the southern & northern hemisphere's respectively.. he can ALWAYS play the ISOS warm style. Its why its going more housey. The majority of his new picks (barring his own label's trance) have been more and more progressive edged.
I just wish he would make the move permanently (if its what he wants) and not put out middle-of-the-road, trance albums playing at 130bpm... as a vague way of trying to sit on the fence.
Get some balls ffs.

even though there not brand new tracks as most on ISOS 5 are, i would have loved to see Kosmas Epsilon - Innocent Thoughts and Way Out West - Killa on this compilation. that's just my opinion.
listened to both cd's of this album and id give it a 7. some decent tracks, some not but overall nothing to go crazy about. ISOS 3 is still the best in the series imo. |

I"d go with the first one. Actually, they get less good as the series progresses, but 1 and 2 are in a class of their own. You're just never going to match that level of quality trance. |

Okay, I've had an opportunity to listen to CD1. It's much more ISOS-y than 4. I'm digging the last couple of tracks, they flow really well together. And really people, the mixing is not overly special, but it gets the job done.
Edit: Really funny how that Hammer & Funabashi remix has the same background as Funabashi - Daylight. :toothless |

beside some boring stuff like Helsinki Scorchin' or Arise, my favourites are 'Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party' and the Guy Ehmetores Remix of WOW - Dont Forget Me :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:, it beats my fav. remix of that track by Riley & Durrant easily, simply amazing!
overall a good album, nothing to go crazy about however, good to see more progressive stuff on it |

wow im ing sick of people talking about newer trance these days. ive been listening to trance for 5 years non stop now. started out listening to early oakenfold, early mark spoon, forbidden paradise...you get the point. been listening to alot of the new trance lately. to me it definately makes most of the older trance seem bland, cheesy, and much less powerful. flame me all you want. just an opinion.
guess thats how music works though. thats probably why older people stick to older music. most people seem to stick with the tunes they grew up with.
i just dont like when people justify tiesto's newest up by saying there just isnt good trance around anymore. there definately is. |
