This thread has been the best read I've had here in ages, thanks Tiestoinmix! :D
And as ToF already said, what the hell would Oliver Lieb owe Tiesto for playing his tracks? First of all, he probably didn't even ask Tiesto to play them, so you shouldn't try to make it sound like it was a huge favor or honor Tiesto did for Lieb. Secondly, you seem to be implying that without Tiesto playing Lieb's tracks, Oliver wouldn't have become the famous and well respected artist he is today? Well let me break the news to you: Lieb was already famous and well respected way before Tiesto started playing his tracks, and it sure as hell wouldn't have made any difference if Tiesto hadn't played his tracks. He'd still be the same pioneering legend, despite what you may think in your Tiestocentric universe.
And with the impressive career Lieb has built up in the past decades, he sure as hell has earned himself the right to comment on Tiesto's mixing, especially in the civilised way he did so. After all, his productions get featured on those mediocre compilations Tiesto puts out, and any producer should have the right to feel upset when his work he's put his heart and soul in gets devaluated by being in a mediocre mix. There are no Lieb tracks on this ISOS though, but for all he knows, Tiesto uses another one of his tracks for the next quick cash compilation of his.
As for the statement someone made that every bedroom dj would release the same mediocre mix if he could get away with it: I know I wouldn't, cause there just happens to be something called pride in your work. And this puzzles me actually. I'm pretty sure Tiesto realises his mixing isn't up to par with the mixing on other compilations by big jocks, so why on earth does he still decides to put this compilation on the market? He has every means possible to make this a brilliant mix, tracklist wise and mixing wise. But yet, even with the help of the almighty Ableton, he couldn't deliver a stunning, perfect mix. So this probably means he didn't find it necessary, even for his status or massive fanbase, to release a perfect product, which we all know he should be capable of. Has he got no respect for himself and the art he's performing? Hell, even I - a simple bedroom dj - am annoyed when I can't deliver a perfect mix for my radioshows. Imagine how I would feel when I had the superstar dj status and I had a compilation released and bought worldwide by hundred thousands of people. I wouldn't settle for anything less than perfection, mixing wise and tracklist wise. I really can't understand why Tiesto would. Sure, he cashes in big bucks for this, and the majority of his fanboys couldn't tell the difference between a good mix and a bad mix and will buy it anyway without any sense of criticism. But come on, the knowledge you've put out a mediocre product you really shouldn't be that proud of, doesn't that bother him? |

This post right here proves the Oliver Lieb account is fake.
It is not possible for a producer with the caliber of Lieb, to state this kind of rudeness at a public forum. I would believe it, if it was Paul van Dyk or some similar loser, but this is not Lieb's style.
I am not saying that any big producer should keep their opinion to themselves, but imo it seems a little bit unprofessional to bash a colleague, and Lieb is the last person in the scene who would use/need that kind of cheap propaganda, so this is definitely not him. |

How is it not possible? I was being honest and direct and I can't see how I came off as being rude. Have we met before? How can you possibly know what I truly think of other producers and Djs. I don't have any personal problems with him and I was not bashing Tiesto, only giving my honest and fair opinion on the release. Are you suggesting that I only say something positive about the release just because we were colleagues? I'm sorry, but it would only result in a dishonest post. |

hmmm so Oliver Lieb, one of the most respected producers out there, is so unbusy at the moment that he has time to reply at a forum within minutes.
prove it. prove that you are Oliver Lieb. how hard could it be? |

for you perhaps, for the rest of us, we spend enough time laughing at you that seeing you attempt to prove it will be fun. |

hmmm why am I under the impression that YOU are behind all this farce?
I don't have time to prove . However, this "Oliver Lieb" seems to have some extra time to do it, so I will leave the task to him.
Meanwhile, he is Ian. |
