Use drugs wisely - don't let drugs use you.

By the same argument I guess the Beatles didn't really like rock'n'roll.

See, i've had nothing but good experiences with drugs, and with people who use drugs.

As for clubbing. I find people who drink alcohol alot more irresponsible and dangerous then I do people who pop E.
In fact I perfer dancing and partying with a bunch of e-tards then with alcoholics.

Now sure, I dont agree that drug use is good. Because its not.
But neither is alcohol or smoking(which kill MANY more people a year then drugs). The only difference is that those are legal and accepted in our society.
But in my view those things are much more dangerous and hazardous to our society then drug use ever will be.

So I guess in the end, the only real party people are the ones who do it sober the entire night. And if you can party just as hard as the drug users, then you have my respect.

......
im a chilled, i told you what my impression is of you because i have never seen you again after that incident. Btw you looked like you were either drunk or on something because sober people would not act like people around them dont exist.

That'd be hard since the drug never gained popularity until the late 1970s.

You totally missed the point.

Wow. I had no idea this thread would get this big, or such a positive response from that many people.

What I'm gonna say here is not 'in defense' of my actions, but merely explain a bit further as to why this was started to begin with.

Am I going to apologize for starting this thread? No. It has obviously proven to be a topic thats on a lot of peoples minds, based on the rapid amount of replies (even if you dont count the off-topic posts). Other threads have been started before that touched to this subject already ("know your limits"), yet it obviously didn't have the impact that this thread has. Never did I name any names, then or now. Some people who I wasn't even talking about are getting defensive, and others who are defensive obviously have a reason to be. People I wasn't even thinking about are contacting me personally to say they're going to re-evaluate their priorities. If just ONE person comes away with them taking a good look at themselves, or gives someone the courage to talk to one of their friends about this taboo subject, then this thread has served its purpose.

Don't think for a minute that I haven't had discussions w/some of these people expressing my concerns. What have I gotten in return? Often lies to my face regarding their continued usage. Are there more people yet to talk to? Of course. But if they're just gonna 'justify' their G use to me as they have to others, I dont need to waste me time.

My concerns are NOT just in reference to this past weekends events, nor any one person's house either. I could name at least 3 houses that have fallen into the 'drug den' category at some point. If people are able to figure out who some of these people and places are, that's not my fault. If things weren't done in public to begin with, it wouldn't be public knowledge. Is this a public issue? Yes, drug abuse is a public issue. Am I talking about one person's drug abuse? No- there are too many people to list, nor would I list them by name either. I am also surrounded by abusers in my personal life (not just people on TA) and the cumulation of the two worlds is making me reach my breaking point.

Do I have every right to voice my thoughts? Yes, I do. Does that mean I think they are bad people? Not at all. If I didn't love or care about them, I wouldn't mention it to begin with. Am I being hypocritical cuz I didn't mention the evils of E/pot/alcohol/cigarettes/heroin/crack/food as well? No. The point is just like Jon said- there's a fine line between party and abuse, whatever your poison. Obviously, some poisons shouldn't be touched to begin with. I only mentioned those 3 drugs in particular, because it is those drugs that are becoming a PROBLEM for many people here, and have some pretty high risks at stake if abused. Again, I'm not here to preach against any and all drug use. Its the ABUSE that has become a problem, and people messing with drugs they have no business touching.

Again, to get back on topic, if just one person comes away with something positive out of this, it will be worth any enemies I'm gonna make for speaking my mind.

Party safely. Don't become a statistic.

again Nat, well put and well needed. I have a lot of respect for those willing to go out of their way to get people to think and reflect for a bit. We can all use more of it. And we can all benifit from others watching out for us additionally.

one of my favorite sayings is 'Everything in moderation, even exessiveness'.
we can all decide where our lines are, but we should choose them intelligently.

Yeah. Some may say "oh that'll never happen to me." Well, somebody has to be that statistic.
