for the most part i agree. i think you should be able to have an honest, open discussion on drug use. i think most people on here can give their opinion on the negative aspects of drugs just as easily as they can promote them. pretending that drug use does not exist in our scene is burying our head in the sand. it is our scene. we are the ones using them and it is our problem.

however, i also agree with the casual remarks and jokes that are made should be curtailled. often the way drug use is referenced on here, makes light of the seriousness of it all...and it is serious.

What's worse is the fact that a lot of people brag about their drug escapades to the younger people who consider these guys there mentors and are still vulnerable and get influenced easily. I made the mistake of telling my younger brother back in India, that i roll at parties every now and then and just the other day, he told me that he would like to try E and it made me sick to my stomach knowing that what I say and consider harmless to talk about could actually influence someone close to me to do something i wouldnt want him/her to.

A naive point of view. One thing I've realised is how imprinted the drug culture is in today's society. If it wasn't you who would have told him about it, it would have been one of his friends. You can't really escape the references anymore (unless you really shut yourself away from the world).

And why is it okay for you and not okay for him? Both personal choices. You sound really hypocritical when you say "I take E, but I don't want you taking it". And being a hypocrite when it comes to drugs will only have the negative effect of them wanting to try it more.

I'll agree with you on the fact that people who brag about doing drugs and being crackheads (MoralHazard, ChemEnhanced & co) are really really lame and immature. Keep it to yourself, it's really nothing to be proud of.

Sorry but I will say what I like. You see, it is only by listening to everyone that we can ever hope to reach the right answer. If you keep tight lipped about your experiences and views then you're really not assiting people in obtaining the information they need to make "that decision" for themselves. I never recommend drugs to anyone else... if they want to know my views I'll share them, if they want to know what it's like I'll tell them.... the good and the bad. After that they are better equiped to make a decision.

Far be it for me to tell someone what they should or should not say. I'm also not going to tell someone how to live their life unless they ask for my advice.

However, there is nothing good about drugs that does not include bad, no matter how you look at it. Again, I've done them before, and I have friends that still do, and it does not change my view of a person.

To each their own.

I agree that knowledge is power, and people do come here looking for information. But would anyone ever come here looking for knowledge and education, and decide not to do drugs? I firmly believe that anyone who does come here looking for guidance just wants one person to say "it's alright", and they're off and poppin'.

why cant we have parties on saturdays and sundays taht start at say noon at least in the summer time. and maybe end around midnight or so? this way the bar will be open and it falls in regular sleep schedule.

i know that there are sunset parties all over the world on the beach and all and well we might not have beaches around here but we could maybe have something along those lines

thats a good point. going through dinner time is iffy though. well atleast for me. if they can stamp your hand when you leave to go get something to eat then come back in would be cool....or maybe a party from 7 until 5 or so would be good.

Who the hell would go to guv regularly without the assistance of either alchohol or drugs?

Clubland has forever been built on drugs. If you want to enjoy music, listen to it at home! invest in a good stereo with all that money you aren't spending on cabs, cover, booze and substances.

places like the guv are havens for drug use...which is why I can't enjoy myself there if I'm stone cold sober. hell I can't really even have a truly enjoyable time even if I do indulge.

I'm shocked at how people think that if they stick to pills or coke or G that they are safe. this stuff isn't regulated....you can't expect the same quality every time. not even between pills that are from the same dealer and look the same. there are ways to be SAFER about it, but you gamble everytime.

I can do any club sober.... I generally choose not to.

all this talk of clubs operating at different times so one doesnt have to participate in drug use is ing killing me. lol.

'please mr. headliner dj, please play at 10pm so i can be home by midnight all tucked in bed with my footsie pajama's and my num num.'

KETAMINE.
why do I think that most people won't read this because it has 'big words' in it

I worked at a compounding pharmacy for veterinarians a while back. A pharmacy. We compounded tons of serious narcotics, stuff that'd probably make an awful lot of you salivate. We had a LOAD of it kickin' around the warehouse.

We used it so often, as it is a popular anaesthetic for cats, dogs, and other small animals. I got to learn a load about it from my boss, and of course all the other drugs too, but ketamine was the one that stood out because she would tell me about people that used it.

This was just in the beginning of my time in the party scene, and I was totally oblivious to the fact that a load of people at The Guv used this stuff. For some reason I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

The stuff that stood out in my head from the lectures as we worked were the Olney's lesions, and the resulting vacuoles (tiny holes) that ketamine puts in your brain tissue. Essentially what it does is attack the posterior cingulate cortex and retrosplenial cortex.

What your posterial cingulate cortex controls (some parts taken from Erowid because I can't remember all of it):
-verbal and auditory memory
-multisensory perception
-visuospatial cognition and/or evaluation of emotional behaviour

Your retrosplenial cortex deals with processing your vision.

To summarize, ketamine will probably with:
-memory, especially language-related (e.g., finding words)
-understanding metaphors
-evaluating, and possibly controlling, your own behaviour
-multi-sensory thinking
-learning in new situations
-certain aspects of visual perception

So, anybody suffering from any reduction of those things? I bet there's a few of you, if you bothered to read this far.

It puts HOLES in your goddamn brain, people. This isn't like that scary ecstasy propaganda from Opra where it might put drain your spinal fluid and all that that doesn't actually happen, BUT THIS DOES. ING HOLES. IN YOUR BRAIN. Oh yeah, it's shown that prolonged ketamine use causes schizophrenia too.

OH BUT IT GETS BETTER

Guess what makes ketamine WORSE for you? Combining it with ecstasy. Those of you that take K to "ease the comedown" of E are ing yourself even harder. This increases your risk of brain damage to SERIOUSLY scary levels. BRAIN DAMAGE. SAY IT OUT LOUD. 5-HTP is also a horrid thing to be using concurrently with K due to the very high risk of serotonin syndrome.

Drinking too. Not only is ketamine a respiratory supressant, when combined with alcohol it makes the risk of respiratory failure pretty high.

Those of you that think I'm picking on you or that I hate or don't like you - this isn't the case. I have nothing against you people, I enjoy your company and think you're good folks, but the fact that some of you do this stuff absolutely blows my mind. I'm not going to ask you to stop, I'm not telling you to stop, I'm asking you to think about what you're actually doing to yourself. This isn't snake-oil bull like 90% of the crap about E (which I'm not saying is entirely safe, because it sure as hell is not), this is REAL. This actually happens. HOLES IN YOUR GODDAMN BRAIN.

I'm done.
