Jeff, I don't think it's unfair that people would like a headliner to come on before 4am. For people who lead 9-5 jobs, and don't work a retail or a bar/restaurant job and have to keep day hours M-F, staying up til 4am on a Friday night for the headliner to come on is near impossible without drugs since you've already been up since 6am Friday morning.
|
Im so glad I'm not like this! Id hate that.
I work 9-5 (6 more like it) Monday to Friday at an accounting firm.
I always party at Guv, and I never (read: once, twice a year maybe) drop there. And I'm usually there twice a month.
Pre-drinking before Guv is all I need. Bc I dont drink at Guv any longer either, bc of the the expensive (IMO) drink prices. I dont wish to pay 5$ for a beer.
So I go drunk before hand and dance the night away. I'm sober by 2-3 am usually and I just keep dancing and have SO MUCH FUN bc I love the music and I am with all my friends.
I have ONE HELL of a commute back home to Collingwood... leave TO by 330pm, arrive in Collingwood by 8pm Sunday night. I never sleep on the Saturday night or Sunday day after the club. I lose a full nights sleep always.
Somehow, though, Monday or Tues or Weds still are never difficult for me. Im 25, so I'm not 18 any longer either.
I find it very easy to recover after partying when you havent dropped pills.
I guess Im very fortunate... which is good, bc I guess thats the only reason I can enjoy partying all night the way I do... bc if it was making working my job difficult, then Id have a problem. Your job/career is exactly that - you cant gamble with that.

When one parties w/o pumping the junk into their veins, you come out and truly apreciate your experience, u remember things so much more clearly, the night, the music, the people...and at the end of the day, its the memories we keep that are really what matters. why waste it away? |
Nothing against dropping E or K or watever, but I find this to be very true with me.
I recall my night so much better and when I don't drop. I enjoy that.

So true. I agree.
COMMIT. ING REALLY DO IT if you say you "want it"
Then prove it - do it! Accomplish your want. ;) |

Oh i'm not making a jab at the Comfort Zone... i've heard the stories of the amazing music played here... but thats what the whole point.. going for the amazing music.. not as another place to do drugs..which is where the whole drug abuse comes in.. its totally fine to go to the Zone to hear some mid-day beats.. but i mean if you just spent a night at the Guv, or the docks or any of the all night bars in TO... there is no reason to go to the Comfort Zone just as an excuse to keep the 'party' going...
ppl doing things like that on a regular basis def have a drug problem..
i mean i tihnk its safe to say that everyone here loves music.. its a very important part of their lives.. but if some ppl keep up this kind drug use.. who knows.. they may not have a life to enjoy the music in

I agree - I only go to the Zone to party with my friends and hear GREAT Music and dance.
Ive never had a drop to drink or touched any substance when I've partied at the Zone. Dont need to - love the music and the friends im with. |

Nice post Nat.
One example is an Armin party I attended.
girl: "What are you on?"
me: "Nothing, I'm sober"
girl: "Then you won't understand the music!"
If you think you need drugs to understand Armin, let alone trance, you have some issues to deal with.
If you can't party without the drugs, you have to stop. That includes alcohol to yay. |

^^ LOL, thats me EVERYTIME I'm there! 100% sober - no alcohol, no drugs
And I love that sketch by association! ;) Haha :p

"Why is there so much traffic? Is it the train?" |
^^ I love my sleep-deprivation sketch... so much more manageable and harmless than my E sketch! ;) |

The music is why I love CZ so much. But some people can't handle the sketch factor. I'm glad that I'm able to ignore it. But I have friends that have gone and just can't ignore it. I respect that. It is definatly an experience though. I don't believe it's as bad as most people thing it is, as long as they can get past certain elements of it. |
