lmao Martin, the girl i saw Irrersible with thought the same:haha:
i am amazed at how many people on this board have such amazing insights into film, than just the generic wow look at the big boom you seem to find these days.
I guess edm lovers are artistic people beyond the norm. This thread although on a tangent, actually inspires me to think that the DVD generation has some hope to go beyond the big bang and cheap laugh tendancies that dominate hollywood today. You guys rule;) |

Thanks Jay.
Are you kidding me? The day I'm Bruckheimer-aka-mister-let's-blow-this--up-and-ignore-plot-holes I will have myself assasinated.
But... see... then again I gotta pass some respect over to some of the commercial filmmakers. The most obvious...
Spielberg...
Munich. Saving Private Ryan. Hook. Minority Report.
He's such a balance between the light and dark side of cinema...
Props to Gore Verbinski for Pirates of the Carribean... I'm serious... this movie returned some prestige to the commercial summer blockbuster...
Anyone here seen Dancer in the Dark? Powerful . |

man that film is just something else i've prolly seen it at least 100 times and its still awesome and i still get impressed by it, the acting, the camera makes u just think ure with duke and gonzo trippin, THE QUOTES (i think it's the film that has the funniest quotes, or maybe some woody allen films that are n hilarious)...
:haha: :haha: :haha:
i remmeber shroomin with ''the crew'' (mitzu, shawn05, kaarl_24....) on it last week, as soon as we hear his voice in the beggining saying ::
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold.
I remember saying something like:
I feel a bit lightheaded.
Maybe you should drive.
:haha: :haha: :haha:
Peanuts man , let's get some peanuts man, peanuts are good for you. |

Before I go ON topic again, I have to put my two cents in:
Markess: that taxi-cab sequence is brilliant if only for the fact that the camera literally (seemingly ;)) goes through (or out of) the window at one point, realized it on the 2nd viewing.
Irreversible is definately has that shock-value but the filmmaking above anything else (acting, music, set etc.) is what makes the movie an emotional powerhouse. I also loved the realism of daily-life (having two naked people sleeping in the same bed would never happen in a Hollywood movie - never, at least, to that extent)
My best friend thinks all women should watch Irreversible :haha: to know about the dangers of walking alone in red underground tunnels :nervous:
The girls I showed this got scared off...
HAKI: I LOVE FELLINI!!! 8 1/2 = his best film. Best movie about moviemaking ever made imo. a-n-f: THAT WOULD BE ING SICKKK if u can get 8 1/2 on reel .... :eyes:
Oh and I know Marcuss wont agree with me but Tarantino is THE !!
I have to see La Haine, I know that, Ive been wanting to see it for years...
If you liked Fear and Loathing, people should check out BRAZIL if u haven't....humourous bizarre tale about the future with Bobby DeNiro playing a cableguy/superhero hahahaha, Gilliam is a master.
