Raoul Duke: With a bit of luck, his life was ruined forever. Always thinking that just behind some narrow door in all of his favorite bars, men in red woolen shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he'll never know.
This is quite possible the best script of all time |

"Order some golf shoes. Otherwise, we'll never get out of this place
alive. It's impossible to walk in this muck -- no footing at all..." R. Duke.
Probably the funniest line in the movie.

Hey, Gilliam is inspired by Lynch (and vice versa I imagine) I know that much so it's not like this is completely off-topic ;)

Don't you see we have a good thing going here? I think any forum should have at least one thread deovted to film..crazy comparisons/similarities might arise and it's nice to talk about something apart from edm with edm-lovers. :)

Here's one for b/w photography fans and it includes a quote taken from one of the most heartbraking scenes I watched on film.

Yesturday me, MT and Shawn05 watched blue velvet...
was the first time since about 2 years that i haven't seen this film...
ill resume the movie with a quote in the film :
It Is a VERY Strange World !!!
seriously, this is a disturbing film, easy to understand, not too much of a labyrinth like some lynch movies. this one is about a normal guy that has a pretty simple boring life and is way too curious about some stuff he shouldnt be curious about. it shows where curiosity can lead you, it can show u a completely different world, but for what price ?
That character named jeffery wants to demystify a mystery after finding a human ear on the ground. Lynch show u some inconfortable voyeurism scene in this film, with jeffrey getting into an appartement of that woman which is a singer and jeffrey discover some things that are gonna change his life forever.
Then jeffrey discover the existance of a man named Frank Booth, extremely well played by Denis Hopper. That man is the freakiest freak ever !!
The first scene where Frank is introduced we can see him taking his drug (nitrous i think), and raping violently and WEIRDLY that girl(the singer), while jeffrey is watching them inside the closet. This scene is prolly one of the most disturbing scene in film history.
Lynch is getting u involved in a nightmarish mystery that Jeffrey doesn't wanna escape cuz of his curiosity.
At the end, we can see everything back to normal, and jeffrey has never been as happy to be alive in this world, he went in such a terrible nightmare that a regular life seems like heaven to him at the end. I think that Lynch wanted to show us how life can be horrible and how it can be beautiful, he gets u in such a disturbing world with d up people, to show u how life can be dark, sad,weird,suffering,scary... so when u come back to normal reality u feel happy to be alive in this world. Lynch wanted to show us what curiosity can lead u to.
For me not one of the best lynch films, but still a really good movie. i'd give it 9/10.
i dont recommend this one to weak ppl, somes scenes can be EXTREMELY disturbing !!

Not Lynch but, for some unknown reason I have the biggest thing for Zombie movies. They're all exactly the same, but I can never get enough of how simple and unbelievably stupid they are.
Havent seen them all but the classics I've all seen, as well as Peter Jackson's obscure ass 1980s zombie/alien movies. (The Aliens were exactly like zombies, eating everyone).
ZOMBIE MOVIES FTW (Except these new ty ones, IE: Dawn of the Dead remake). |
