Italian Fascism and German Nazism were two very different animals with regard to social values. The Fascista movement was pretty much free of the racist beliefs which so drove the Nazi movement. Sure, both were very nationalistic, called for a corporatist economy, and a tremendous social welfare system; however, they pretty much parted ways after that. |

I am aware of this Moral. Like i said my grandfather bought into the return of the Roman Empire nonsense. I do not blame him, as propaganda helped shape his views from a young age. It used to be very interesting when i was younger to see him and my grandfather (Canadian soldier) share war stories.
He hated Greeks though so he is kind of racist:p |

I find it kind of funny the level of support for Nazism in the Arabic world (not that Fahad is of Arabic decent... he isn't... I'm pretty sure). Arabic peoples would be considered unter-menchien by the Nazis and subject to forced sterilization or extermination had the Nazis occupied the Arab world. I can kind of understand it for the Iranian and Indian Muslims, as they would have been considered Aryans by the Nazis (although lower on the totem pole then the Nordic races) but it makes no sense at all for the Arabs. |

In truth, I cannot blame the young men that were swept up in either the Nazi or Fascist movements... they were seduced by system of education and propaganda that was overwhelming for those coming of age in the 1930s. Those soldiers honestly believed what they were doing was right and in the best interest of their countrymen. I have respect for the soldiers on both sides.
You really can't blame him for hating Greeks... although it probably has more to do with their propensity to be dirty, grimy, sheep raping, homos then Fascist ideology. |

The point here is to be grateful for your freedom. Freedom that was won for you - yes, YOU PERSONALLY (and me, and them , and all of us), freedom that was paid for with the blood of generations.
Whether you agree or disagree with the politics of these wars in principle, remember that millions of husbands, fathers, sons, sisters, wives and daughters never returned to thier families, so their children could live free from persecution.
That deserves two minutes of silence. |
