Actual account of Events written by our dear Kevin Turlo:
Michelle Emond, Barry Ward, and myself (Kevin Turlo) were all beat up to an inhumane extent on wednesday night, september 19th at the Kool Haus/Guvernment club. After accidentally wandering into a closed section of the club, we were asked to leave by 4 bouncers not so politely. We complied as to ensure that no trouble started. After Michelle, Barry, and I were led to a stairwell that led to the street, two of the bouncers grabbed me very aggressively, and dragged me down the stairs.
The first thing i saw when i was thrown onto the sidewalk was 2 other bouncers throw Michelle (a 130lb. woman for those who do not know her) down to the sidewalk, and KICK HER IN THE HEAD REPEATEDLY!!! Obviously, Barry and I tried to defend her with our lives, but were outnumbered 10 bouncers to the two of us. After a futile attempt at defending eachother, we were both head stomped into unconsciousness.
When i was revived, i saw Michelle, lying in a pool of blood pouring from her right ear.
Part 2:
We rushed to her aid, and 2 passers-by witnessed the ASSAULTand phoned the police for us. The EMS and FIRE services were absolutely wonderful to us. The Police, however were incomprehensibly rude, disinterested, and accusatory towards the three of us. Even with a bloody, battered woman lying in the street. The police also informed me that the club would be charging the three of us with THEFT and ASSAULT??. In my opinion, after carefully reviewing all of the goings-on that night, i can only deduce that they were trying to intimidate us into leaving and forgetting the entire occurence. All three of us are proceeding with criminal and civil action, and any help, information, or support that anyone could lend to us would be invaluable to us. Michelle has suffered a broken ear drum, shattered bones in her right ear, a broken clavical, and multiple bruises and cuts. Of course, these are only the physical damages caused to her. Barry and I have also suffered needlessly.
Part 3:
I do not believe that this is acceptable at all. This club, and the type of people that they hire is a disgrace to not only our City, but to our freedoms, and rights as Canadians as well. This cannot stand. This could have happened to ANYBODY!
Feel compelled to contact me if you can offer us any assistance. Any applicable witnessed events at this facility will strengthen our case. Thank You from Micelle, Barry, and Myself.
Do not go to this club if you are as disgusted as I am by this pack of goons who think it's OK to beat up a girl half their size and get away with it...Because they wil not.
And for that matter...bouncers are supposed to be there for the security of the patrons...are they not? |

Yeah I saw it.
Apparently a few people got roughed up (including one female) who accidently wandered into a closed of area.
They were apparently cooperating, but ended up getting beat up by the bouncers and stuff.
They were actually on the CBC at 6pm last night talking about it.

The problem with this story is that we have all heard it before, and its hard to say who's side to take.
a) the bouncers at the guv are huge douche bags who do over react.
b) they deal with a lot of sketch bags, who sometimes need to be taught how to behave in a club.
But for this one, I think I will side with the patrons unless the Guv comes out with video evidence damming the club goers.

| half the bouncers in that hole are hooked on drugs. as for the cops, it wouldn't surprise me if they're in on the racket. anyone who's been a regular there and been into the drugs knows what's going on in that place. after hearing this story, it wouldn't surprise me to know the cops are in on it too. complete bull. i'll never go back. |

| it seems like excessive force was used but I highly doubt the patrons were completely co-operative and I am sure some choice words and violence were used on both sides. I don't tend to believe everything somebody says, especially when they have been drinking. |
