i think tiesto has been overused in the last 2 years in montreal but to be honest i was actually "offended" (big word here) he didnt stop his tour in montreal! i would trade any of his last gigs here in mtl to have had a chance to witness is elements of life tour in mtl...

First of all in my books "Commercial Dj" is someone pleasing the masses in general, but I always thought that for "house" music commercial would be stuff like David Guetta and Remixes of RnB @ higher bmp, lots of vocals, the stuff they play in regular clubs in Canada for house. However I never heard Armin trance in any club in Canada unless hes been booked, how is that commercial then... I just don't see it. I have seen Tiestos stuff being dropped in clubs at times "traffic" I heard myself in Ottawa in an RnB club lol. But never did I hear Armin trance live anywhere but @ the massives or when hes booked in an edm club or an afterhours, which again doesn't happen often.

That was quite a rant but my point is I think armin does it pretty well for the other side of the globe to be considered a stepstone for trance and to be booked into the BEB trance room until he completely sells out, I have seen Armin twice in my life and I have been satisfied by it sober or not, in my ears its just great music uniting music and it creates a lot of energy at times.

Just my 2 cents on that

lol amen, i will never disagree with you on that one: tiesto is definitely commercial !!!

well, the BeB house headliner could be considered the Tiesto of House music

Guetta's World is Mine was huge, I'm sure it got lots of ppl into edm .. and the track was huge at Cream 04.

He was at BeB only two years ago, and had a mediocre performance, imo. In recent memory, Benassi, Tiesto, Guetta, Nissam, IM and now Lawler have all had average Montreal massives-related sets, IMO.

So that said, they shouldn't be back so soon for this massive, especially since there are other good djs out there, and especially since WMC is on the following weekend. You'd think that would make it a bit easier to book a WMC-bound dj since it's only hours away from Montreal.

But it's all about sticking "to the corporate image set for the House Room, which satisfies a maximum of participants."

I'm gonna so take a beating for this :p
