finally, if she's such a great opening DJ, why is it that Markus Schulz himself asked me personally to tell her to pitch the tempo DOWN. she was playing at at least 133bpm at 3am that night at stereo. it only got faster towards 430am when Markus was to come on. and guess what? he didn't go on when he was supposed to cuz she was still banging the out of the system. who the hell opens/warms up a room at that speed? and before the international headliner gets on? magnificent DJing ethics...

huge no-no for sure, although as Marie says, there's no nepotism here, another serious allegation for sure (besides that one from 'clara' that she can't mix two tracks, apparently). That's all u guys need to know :p

It's been 1 year past since, it was in November 2006 if I remember correctly, and you still bring back this story! It is true to say that Markus thought it was fast tempo, I was there that night BUT it’s her style! Ask Ulrich Van Bell to open for Markus, you will have the same result.

Besides that, it was one of the best night in 2006 i got. As you say so, Markus has continued in the same way that Insomnia and he was AWESOME !!

I spoke with Markus after his set a good half-hour, yes he was "upset" at first sight, it's true, but after he understood why Insomnia plays this style, he saw the crowd reaction and he keep the same way and his frustration was suddenly went away ! Do you knew this StereoHeadz ... Probably not!

He returned to play at Stereo in 2007 and Batz opened that night and I was there again and it was more smooth than the other night and after his set he recognized me and HE CLEARLY STATED "I preferred the last time I came here, the crowd was totally dead tonight compare to the other time." There's a reason for that my friend !

This story makes me laugh each time I heard it … Anyway hard to asked a Househead to understand something in Trance.
Like Passkal who said he don’t go anymore to the Party des pompiers … Moi, je te connais mais toi tu me replace tu !!! Peut-être que c’est les party des pompiers qui ne veulent plus de toi !!! Big difference. ;)

i dont know man.. my opinion is if your a trance opener, u shouldnt be playing past 130, playing upwards at 134/135 kind of makes me think they dont know how to open properly/newbs,.. its diff if you were one of the headliners.. say sean tyas.. who murders 138/140.. but if ur a local opener... i dont know.. its like mark oliver opening at guvt.. he does such a good job being taimed back.. not dropping bombs and so on.. but again.. just how i c it.

i'm not trying to bring back any story; i'm just voicing my opinion and using facts as my back up to prove my point.

i think it was way after nov 2006 but that doesn't rly matter. and markus didn't continue with the same style insomnia was playing; as i recall, he played quite a few chuggy proggy house tracks a la lawler when he started things up. he got trancy quickly but nowhere near 133bpm man at least not before 530am when i left...

please explain what trance lesson i, as a househead, am missing?

if he preferred it better to the time gabriel opened up for him, so be it. it's not just the opening dj which makes or breaks the crowd's initial vibe dude and by the way, i'm just taking the point of view of the international headliner. would you want someone to steal the show before you got on? getting the crowd going, yes, but peaking their senses at 3am doesn't leave much room for the international dj to shine (as was clearly stated to me) and that to me shows a lack of respect. anyways like i said, only my opinion, sorry if i've offended you.

Is that Dave Navarro in the centre? I see I wasn't far off with the Greek toga theme. Two chicks in the middle are hot but the guy on the right looks like my avatar :p
