you know rukes? ahahah thats cool... yeah, he's a swell guy, great photographer to boot.

, and I'm sure hes funny as (guy MUST have some stories) but seriously, what the is this "I'm DJing but not really actually DJing" ...

well he's doing what anyone else would do.... take what they like... and have fun doing it in any way they are capable of. Sure he's no Zabiela or virtuoso of the technical wizardry that makes the doods who ALWAYS stand behind the booth go "oooooohhh aaaaahhhhh" coz thats not what it's about (for him!). and as you know, its different for everyone.

aside from the overall consensus from the dj educated crowd on it. He's up there having a good time, and helping others have a good time... it's *that* simple to em... which is something to be desired for alot of performers alike... but yeah, detail-mongers, technicality prophets, and wisdom seekers would have defo a say in it for sure.

Tommy's a in great guy allaround... in fact, i can't remember laughing hysterically at the most random as much as we did working in his studio for 5 days. combined with making music... and an unlimited supply of Jeagermeister... the sum of all the parts = one good in time, and memories ill keep with me until the day i die.

so yeah, i guess like you said... i doubt people would be envious of people having the in time of their lives? doesnt make sense to me... but i guess thats your take on it.

i actually think he was being sarcastic there fella.

Yeah, it's funny, I met him at Avalon in LA in 2005 when he had just moved out here and was taking photos in clubs for fun, and he barely knew anyone. It's cool to see how far along he's come in such a short period of time, his lighting control now is off the hook.

As for Lee, its quite obvious that hes having fun, I'm just saying from the PoV of people for whom this music and DJing is a passion, it can be irritating to see someone jumping around with an efx-500 in the spotlight and touring. Doesn't really bother me, because personally I go see better DJs, but I can at least understand why he catches flak for it. (and it appears you do as well).

Jink, I wasn't being sarcastic. I really have no desire to make that kind of music or hang out with Lee. Different strokes for different folks.

I really could care less about this Hybrid track either...but people are always going to have an opinion on you when you're this out there, and I think, while it should always be taken with a grain of salt, I wouldn't dismiss criticism as jealousy in most cases.

COULD NOT CARE LESS!! man.

why is this the most talked about remix? how were the other remixes anyway? i never did buy the cd so i have no idea. it would have been interesting to hear a remix from jody wisternoff.

Because the original is a rather heavily praised and well known tune. Anyone who touches a 'classic' is subject to heavy criticism. I can't say I'm a big fan of any of the remixes though - they're decent, just not my thing.

yeah i see... and they expected to hear something extraordinary from joel. i see now. i thought it was a good remix... but (no offense) i think they could've gotten someone else maybe from another genre to do the remix... or maybe a few people to do the remix... i want to see how creative some of these artists can be with this track.

I don't think it's limited to that though I imagine it has a further impact. Given the quality of the original, no matter who does the remix work, a lot's going to be expected.
