How about those ZERO homers in 668 at bats. 24 doubles for a dude that fast? ouch. Not considered a defensive stalwart either..with the arm of a Chad Pennington.

The Marlins are going to be SOOOO bad this year. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they break the record of 120 loses in a season. And I guarantee they're gonna lose 100.

In 25 innings so far (2 more to go), the Mets have scored 21 runs and the Marlins have scored 7.

They have to face the Mets, Phillies, and Braves about 60 times this year. It's gonna be a lonnnnngggg season in Miami.

how bout them Tigers? Just got swept by the Royals :wtf: . This allstar offense (made up of a lot of former Marlins haha)could only score 5 runs combined in the 3 game series....which I repeat was against the Royals :wtf:

yeah I know its early heh....theyll get better soon.

As for the Marlins, I feel the same way you do about them this year. Still was nice to see them beat the Mets like they did in that 2nd game. If theres one certain thing is that late in the year theyll ruin some teams playoff hopes (usually the Phillies haha)

So... the Mets have a poll up where you can vote for what song is going to be played during the 8th inning. Last year it was Sweet Caroline... which was dumb and stupid since thats the Red Sox song. In anycase... digg and fark have started urging people to vote for Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up as a write-in.

Rickroll the Mets on Digg

Rickroll the Mets on Fark

Link to the voting

lol...

anyways saw highlights of Johnny Cuetos 1st game and I was impressed. Although the fact that he is being managed by Dusty Baker scares me.

Somewhere in San Diego Mark Prior is curled up in the corner of his hotel room crying and rocking back and forth.

Team brass sees Astley as ghastly

The Mets will have a runoff to determine their new eighth-inning sing-along tune. The organization received five million votes at mets.com after inviting fans to choose from among 10 selections to potentially replace "Sweet Caroline." An issue arose, however, when Fark.com readers bombarded the Mets with gag votes for a write-in candidate: Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up."

The Astley tune actually won.

Rather than commit to that as the new eighth-inning song since it probably doesn't reflect the fan base's wishes, the Mets will play the top six selections once apiece during the first six games of their home stand. The one that draws the largest crowd response will stick. The other songs that made the cut, in descending vote order: "Livin' on a Prayer," Bon Jovi; "I'm a Believer," the Monkees; "Movin' Out," Billy Joel; "Sweet Caroline," Neil Diamond; and "Build Me Up Buttercup," the Foundations.

Mets officials suggested the initial results didn't necessarily force the runoff, saying the rules stipulated Internet voters would "help decide" the outcome.

WISE MOVE: Reliever Matt Wise appears headed for a DL trip with right forearm stiffness, which has sidelined the righthander since he surrendered a game-winning homer to Florida's Robert Andino in the 10th inning on Tuesday.

"I've had three elbow surgeries, and this doesn't feel like anything," said Wise, who signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract after spending the past four seasons with Milwaukee.

The Mets intend to call up Carlos Muniz from Triple-A New Orleans.

PINCHED: Jose Valentin, who has a pinched nerve in his neck, was examined in New York and will remain sidelined, though no surgery is yet scheduled. ... Duaner Sanchez, who tossed a scoreless inning Sunday for St. Lucie, is expected to make a final appearance for the Single-A club today before moving to Triple-A New Orleans. ... David Wright will join Al Pacino as guests of David Letterman next Monday. It will be the third baseman's third appearance on the program.
