+1
Circa and Guv are incomparable. Circa's crowd is VERY young and VERY pretentious. It's got all the fancy lights and "funky" decor, but it doesn't come close to guv's lighting and sound technology. They spent thousands on their renovations (i.e. the LCD wall) a few months ago. Guvernment has been known for their events and big DJ's for at least a decade now. Circa is a baby... it's the old Lucid for sakes!!!
and to be completely honest, I'd much rather party with major sketchbags than young drunk ginos.

| The only place I like in Guv is Gallery (but they don't do House in there anymore :( ), and some specific spots in the main room and KoolHaus, otherwise there's waaay too much distortion. I think I can hear more detail in CiRCA, and by that I mean from third floor balcony, or on the main floor, it sounds good everywhere. I think that's harder to achieve than making a smaller room like Ballroom or gallery sound good. But yea, it really depends on what you feel like doing for the night. |

Millions actually and it's LED :P But yeah I agree with everyone else in terms of Guvernment, it's a world class club, so many different rooms with different sounds. The thing I like about Circa is the decor and design itself, there's so many things to do, so much to see, it's hard to get bored in there. |

| I just don't like the 3 generation asian family huddled together all sketched out in Guv. I know they're just having fun and have their own culture to go by, but still bugs me every now and then. :p There's none of that in CiRCA. |

its true there are good and bad spots in kh and main room @ guv when it comes to sound, but atleast you feel it..at circa I find its hard to get an energy and a feel for the crowd seeming how everyones scattered really..also i dont really have tospeak too loud to carry on a normal conversation, as opposed to the guv where I'm yelling and screaming at times lol |

I'm over Guv...Circa is better. depends upon what you're looking for though...because I don't see *that* much overlap between the crowds on most nights.
I am looking forward to going back to Guv though...for Angello + Ingrosso. I'm told it's less packed these days (probably in part due to Circa). I've had many a memorable night in Guv and it's truly a special venue. DJs from around the world gush about Guv.
I have had some great times at Guv...but over the last couple of years, it's been weak in the main room and KH. I've enjoyed nights in Gallery and Orange Room though, mostly for breaks.
Circa's people (yay for ADD) are booking some solid talent and they're doing something new. The hipster b.s. is kind of amusing (look, we're all wearing 3D-glasses tonight!), but much preferred to the drunken 905 Gino and skasian Guv crowd.
Simian Mobile Disco was decent tonight @ Circa...though not mind blowing. My first venture up to Skyy Cinema was interseting. eye candy galore, lol.
For Circa, I know it's more legality than business decision, but instead of lining up outside in the cold, you walk right in and the lineup is for coat check...which is fine because it's warm, there are tunes, and within 2 minutes I had a vodka/soda in my hand. seriously, why haven't the retard club/bar owners not realized that it's far more marketable (and profitable) to have people inside instead of outside?!?
I am looking forward to going back to Guv for the first time in almost a year...but Circa is definitely on to something. |

Yea I think im pretty much done with GUV UNLESS its to go hear some DJS that im dying to see (S+D, Lawler + Dubfire etc). But even with these nights im thankful that I dont have to go to GUV to see them (Kool Haus + Skybar). I've been there so many times over the past almost 10 years that I really am sick of it lol. And then there are things like the bookings, sound and the crowd which if I thought were better then at least going to the club would be a little more bearable. But they arent ... so i'll go there a couple of times a year and thats it ...
But then again CiRca doesnt really book anyone that i'd like to hear as well but at least they are trying to do something a little different with their bookings and if anything I respect that. They have alot of potential to do something big and INNOVATIVE in the city and that is what excites me about the club. |

LOL.....I think I've just gotten used to this fairly disturbing scene and don't notice it as much anymore.
Circa is a nice change but, as with other clubs, I find that I can't go there too often or I get seriously bored....this is not true for guv, which never seems to get old for me. |

If you need to yell and scream over the music then the sound quality isnt good. In clubs with the best soundsystems in the world you can have a conversation with the people that are standing next to you without having to yell and scream (ie. Stereo, Twilo etc) ... |

| i like guvernment more. it feels like what a club should feel like... big and epic. circa is original but i think it lacks in overall space when compared to the guv. |
