Club Circa VS Guvernment (pg. 3)

The Guvernment, hands down.

Circa

Guv

I agree with a lot of people in the thread...two uncomparable places that you go to for two totally different reasons.

With that said, I go to Guv a lot more often than Circa - especially on regular nights. Circa is more of a place I would go if I'm seeing a particular DJ. However, if you haven't been there before it's almost better to go on a night where you're not looking for anyone particular b/c then you have more time to check out the different rooms - definitely an experience to go there, lots to see and tons of fun IMO.

The thing with Circa too is that the music is MUCH different. I think they're trying to be a bit more diverse, and with the smaller rooms at least, bring in different musical sounds than the mainstream. For instance, my bf and I went on a regular night and spent most of the time in the bathroom bar b/c they were playing this electro stuff that he loves and has never heard at any other bar.

It really depends on what you're looking for.

Alot of you said these places are incomparable but it looks like you guys did a pretty good job at doing so.

Don't know if you're speaking about me, but I didn't really compare them, I stated the reasons why I go to the different clubs - not which one is better.

First of all, CiRCA is a bar hours club (only after hours for special events) located in the CLUB DISTRICT whereas Guvernment is out of the way, so comparing a bar hours club to an after hours club is a pretty retarded comparison.

That's like comparing Cocaine to GHB. Both are drugs yes, but they get you high in totally different ways.

you get my vote for post of the week.....

i think competition is good for the clubbers in general....

^^^ indeed! competition will hopefully force everyone to keep things fresh and change things up (which Guv desperately needs, if I'm to go back to being a regular there).

FWIW, the threadstarter didn't suggest the two places are comparable. he asked for pros and cons of each and which one people prefer.

When I said Circa is better, I meant for me . Guv is great...but IMHO it's the same old, same old and has been for years now. They bring in the same DJs, it's the same crowd, blah blah. It gets old and because Guv continues to make plenty of money (though not as busy these days), there's zero incentive to change it up.

Circa is at least doing something new...bringing in fresh talent and drawing a more diverse crowd.

Hmmm....well for one thing there is no real dress code at THE GUV on a Sat night unlike CIRCA has one on Sat nights there (but not on Fri night)...I like to wear comfy shoes and clothes when I dance :D

The other thing that GUV had a tendency to do is RAM people on a big event might  ...I haven't been to GUV in a couple of months now but I assume its still like that:rolleyes:

I do have to admit that the "vibe" at GUV is better and you can't beat the lighting system and sound :)
