i've come to prepare myself for anything at Guv...Oh look, that chick has huge fake , wait a second "her" nutsack is showing when "she" sits down...OMG look at that 60 yr old asian guy with the bottle on his head while dancing...
OHHHHHH WEELLLLLLLL...I personally go out to have a good time, I go for me and the music tied for #1 and #2 my friends who will be there...the only sketch I don't like is the dangerous sketch...and it never comes from the "skasians" everyone raves about...I agree alot of them in that age group do act ed up, but without them our scene wouldnt be as strong as it is now.
If people want to dance like a kid with severe turrets , if they want to have a conversation with them self, wear ed up clothes etc...who cares its the weekend they are harmless and they choose to do that, we don't choose that for them.
Top 40 clubs such as circa seem to bring in these crowds IMO
Guv to me is a playground, an adventure and the soundtrack during my time there couldn't be topped by any other venue.
Personally drunk white guys give me the biggest grief which is still rare at Guv but it happens sometimes. They come in swarms, looking for and by the end of the nite when they don't get any or any attention period, these guys want to be s and start , to me thats sketchier and more uncomfortable then any "skasian" or "sketchbag" giving them self a light show. |
100% agreed
I went to Circa opening weekend and while I thought it looked amazing, it was amazing as an art gallery...horrible as a nightclub...
Seen it once...no interest in seeing it again... |

^^^ that's pretty short sighted to dismiss a place after attending one event, especially if it was the opening weekend, lol.
the opening for ANY club is hardly going to be representational of what you can expect once it's been operating for a while in terms of the typical crowd, the vibe, logistics, the staff, the DJs/music, etc.
why not go back for an event now that Circa has been open for a while and then make up your mind? |

Yah I see your point...
I just found the place such a pain in the ass to get around in that I lost interest in going back....
The great thing about opening weekend was the bar staff were a little clueless about pricing...
We practically stole the vodka franks..lol...
I'm also weary about going there, standing in line, and paying admission....
I don't like doing that...lol |

the line moves very fast unless youre the type that likes to get to the bar late |

personally i cant stand the crowd at circa ... i was there at the opening and was actually really disappointed in the entire thing ...
Guv is a staple of torontos vastly growning clubbing scene, with out guv there would be no circa ... with out guv are nite life in toronto would probally be a lot worse off... |

The only lineup up that sucked was the Coat Check...
Worst Coat check ever! Not to mention they ran out of hangers at 11:30 ala Dock style..but luckily they found a few more.
