| Elisabeth May is doing quite well for herself.....If Dion could speak english I think he would come across much better....Layton has balls....and Harper is saying basically nothing....although he does have four party leaders raping him. |

I'm pretty sure I know how I'm voting so I've been watching the US VP debate.
Also, I can't listen to Dion attempt to speak english. It's so bad. |

That's his biggest downfall...his english makes him very difficult to listen to...but that definately doesn't make a difference in how I would vote. |

Agreed on both points. |

It affects how I vote.
I don't think he has the ability to represent our country. He's a weak speaker and he's meek. Comes off as an academic but not a politician. He strikes me as always being forced to crack a smile - that he wouldn't interact with other leaders well. |

Jack Layton drives me crazy. He spews off populist BS like no tomorrow, most of what he says about economics makes absolutely no sense, all he does is criticize Harper (sometimes in quite a rude, unprofessional way too), and he has a horrible mustache.
He needs to GTFO. How has he been around for so long?! |

agreed. Although i've also heard him debate in french and have come to the conclusion that he simply isn't an eloquent public speaker in general. Despite this, I do think he is a compassionate and intelligent politician... |

I definately can se he is very passionate about what he believes.
I am finding it amazing how Harper can speak and say nothing....the smirky grin on his face makes me want to punch him out.
I am really impressed with how May has handled herself. |

How does his ability to speak English affect his ability to represent the country?
There is too much exaggeration on how bad it is. |

indeed. Layton is not PM material at all. he's too grassroots, too micro-thinking, IMHO...though I think that makes him a capable critic in many areas (but not economics or foreign policy).
May has completely upstaged Layton, IMHO. She's a fantastic speaker and I'm glad she's been a part of the debates. She's challenged Harper with SPECIFICS (and he consistently did not answer them, just as he ignored various points/charges in last's night debate). |
