Wow - I would never agree to business travel with less than 1 business day's notice, and especially not at 5 in the morning. 1 week is customary, and if you'd known by last Tuesday you could have registered to vote by special ballot (mail-in).

Looks like you're pretty much hosed. I'd be giving the employer a piece of my mind afterward.

I vote via mail by absentee ballot for the US elections - maybe you can do the same thing in Canada?
