Ah yes! I remember that one, lol. Actually, they just beat the out of him and then tossed him out the door. He was killed because he hit a big ing concrete light-post with his head on the way out. :stongue: |
See, that's what I love about Guatemala. True freedom. In any developed nation, the people on the bus would be tried and prosecuted for man-slaughter, or even murder!
It's a sad state of affairs that prosperity and safety generally comes with a price-tag labeled "Your Freedom" slapped across the barcode.
How are things outside of the city though? Is it bad everywhere? I would think that most of the crime-problems are happening in the area with the more dense population. |

Well, as in every country crime is higher in the big city. Where are you going? |

Antiqua, then out to the farm. Pajapita and Quetzeltenango would likely be the only other towns I spend any amount of time in. |

Indeed, it was position and marketing. |

Is it not also a -load easier to use for the tech-newb?
The 'pick-up-and-play' aspect is huge when it comes to hittin it big in the mainstream.
Nintendo used the same strategy with the Wii and it's worked wonders. |

It was all still position and marketing. If they had a lot more competition in the market, they wouldn't have had made the big splash they did. Unfortunately, the US has lagged compared to Europe and Japan on smartphones. As such, Apple was able to come in and just hype up the "first" smartphone with custom apps. lol such bull. |

I think the technology behind a PDA/Phone is fairly interesting, but for the most part it is completely useless to the average user and the average people that buy these things are just a bunch of low income duds and middle manager try-hards impressing their friends with something shiny. Then they'll spend most of their time figuring out the basics and important things... like how to take a picture of their arse and MMS it.
Not exactly 'life changing'
Applications are a crock, if you haven't figured out what you're doing in your schedule by the time you've walked out the door in business, then chances are the application to tell you to be somewhere really isn't going to make you McD's crew member of the month or help land that massive deal with Bob's plumbing on water cisterns.
No really, it isn't... you'll just spend the time faffing around on the net spamming your friends with lolcats, arse pictures and wasting time. |
