Shame I'm stuck with my Touch Pro2 for the next 15 months (not that it's a bad phone). |
I know! I may end up selling my phone and just buying that off contract. :nervous: That or one of the new Android based phones that are using the 1ghz chips with .5gb of ram.

wtf is EOS?
edit: If you are on Tmobile do not get anything other than something with Android, everything else sucks atm (except iphone which is on att though :o ) |
The Touch Pro2 is a fantastic phone too. And you can get it for $50.
I think EOS means End Of Story? But then again, anyone who thinks the iPhone is the greatest thing since sliced bread, they are delusional. |

After the huge learning curve, since there is no manuel for the Droid, I have to say I LOVE IT NOW. The basic stuff that the Droid comes with blows. But after the free apps such as Handcent SMS, Better Keyboard ( i need my Blackberry suretype keyboard style), and Barcode, this phone is damn amazing. Especially today when the stupid autofocus "fixed" itself for the next 24.5 days. Luckily its the same date that VZW is supposed to push out the fix.
I had the blackberry storm prior to this. I liked that phone alot, but it would not say it was a iphone killer. The Droid? I say so. |

I'm tempted to as well.
When we get the phone in stock at work, I can get a 30% discount, so that takes £500 down to £350, but the max I can get for my TP2 is £250 (£200 being more likely), and I don't really have £150 to splurge on a new, un-needed phone, I'm saving to buy a place next year, doh! |

Better to wait a while, it will get cheaper and a few firmware upgrades are bound to come up by then to fix something that will inevitably be broken when the thing comes out new. There must be some kind of rule out there that no new piece of technology can be faultless when it comes out (or ever for that matter). Thats why ill be waiting a few months to get the E72, sure things will run much more smoothly than on the E71 but so far its still serving me well no no need to replace just yet.
or i may even go for one of the Windows mobile phones, dont know yet...woudnt mind something with a bi bigger keyboard and a touchscreen even inf the phone itself is much larger than my current one. |

Yeah, we will see what happens. All depends on how my new job goes really.

Firmware updates are whatevs if you stick to HTC phones. You have a community at your disposal that is WAY faster than HTC to bring out updates to the software. |

I know, the WinMobile community is all the new hype, seems like everybody has moved on from developing apps for Symbian and gone to WM. Hell, even im thinking of doing some dev work for WM while a few Symbian projects still remain unfinished, b ut thats just progress i guess.
Also the option to run a PSX emualtor on a mobile phone is making me drool. Sure Right now im running SNES, GBA and DOSBOX on mine, and its quite nice to have the classis final fantasy games always available when i have a couple of minutes to spare...but a chance to play FF7 or Gran Turismo 2 and the whole other library of awesome PSX games...well that better than porn for a geek like me |

I wasn't being specific to just WM phones. This includes Android too. The HTC Dream, Magic, and Hero all have MANY custom firmwares on XDA. The communities surrounding those Android-based HTC phones is quite strong too.
Yeah that is nice, but no d-pad so it sucks. |

They have rooted the MyTouch, so you can customise it to all hell. Although, I personally am waiting for Android 2.0 and 1ghz phones. I want me some badass phone with Android. It would just own.
Oh and for $200, you can choose from Moto CLIQ (DEXT), MyTouch, G1, and Touch Pro2* (*TP2 for $50 via www.wmdeals.net) |
wmdeals.net doesn't work ben, is there a different site i could use instead? |
