IMO it's often beneficial just to keep those feelings inside. The "let it all hang out" mentality usually doesn't resolve much of anything. And I know that people think, "My God, but what if he / she feels the same and ends up being the love of my life?! I can't possibly keep this inside! AAAAHHH!" But I think a lot of times those sorts of feelings really can fade, if you don't obsess over them. |

I have dozens of female acquaintances; they're all close enough that I have their numbers in my phone and I see them in group situations every week. However, I don't have a single female friend who I would ever call up or do anything with alone.

I have never put out ANY kind of sexual vibe around my guy friends and I don't flirt with them (ew). Rather, I'm pretty conscious of the vibe I give off, because I know that despite what I think they may read into things differently.
Usually that's enough. When my friends have crossed the line I told them I didn't like it or it was inappropriate, etc...even if it was just "harmless" flirting.
I dunno, it's just obvious that I'm not available to them sexually (even when I was single). I mean, don't you know anything about the subtleties of non-verbal communication?? |
