well.. it's been 24 hours since i posted this..
what have you learned? one attack, leads to another, ad infinitum.
only by someone giving up does it ever end. it does not mean you are a coward, it means you want peace.
when will the US want peace?
when will they withdraw from afghanistan? |

i can't believe what is going on in this thread...
can't we all just debate without flaming...
like we all are so high and mighty that our opinions are so much better than the leaders of our nations...
the topic was should the u.s. still be in afghanistan, and personally i really don't know. it's not like the u.s. are helping that country that is already in a lot of trouble to begin with. on the other hand, the u.s. are not just murdering innocent people just because they want to, and some of you honestly believe that. the u.s. needs to do something in an effort to strike against those who struck at the u.s. first. but when do you draw the line and say enough is enough is not that easy.
don't believe that decisions like our leaders and presidents face are that easy and everything is black and white. and if you think it's that easy to make these kind of decisions, why don't you step up to be in that position. but all i got to say is thank god "fastmp3" is not the leader of canada with his intelligence and wisdom of a dead whale. secondly, thank god "tiesto14" is not the leader of the u.s., because he would have no mercy to anyone who would disagree or argue with him. |

When was the last time you ever did anything to improve the world? Join the world wars? I got news for you: you only joined them because you were blindly following England's lead. And you didn't even make any impact in them!
|
yes, and you only joined because you were attacked (Pearl Harbour), you were quite happy to do all while Europe to took a pounding, and thousands of our people died. If that kind of war had been waged on you, and the world super-power (supposing it wasn't America) did nothing, you'd be up in arms for the next millenium  |

| they should make a ground force, civilian casualties will be a lot less that way, and they can eliminate the Taliban. Bombing doesn't help anymore... It only makes the civilian casualties grow while the Taliban casualties hardly grows anymore because there are only a few left (couple of 1000).... |

so very simple to you isn't it??? u.s. would be in peace if the terrorist didn't attack them. the terrorist wouldn't have attacted if it wasn't for bin laden and other extremist leaders. there wouldn't be extremist leaders if not for u.s. policies. u.s. polices would be different if they didn't have to be one of the top leading countries. etc., etc., etc., it just keeps going.
it's not that easy to say, "ok, the u.s. has beaten you up enough, we're done."
just look at the war between israilies and palestinians...that's been going on for how long now??? |

and if i remember correctley it wasnt until America stepped into the war that it began to end....cus u Europeans couldnt handle Germany and definatley would of got destroyed by Japan...

why are u asking us if we want peace?.....they are the ones who struck first...like bluejay said are we supposed to say they had enough like its a school yard fight and the kid has a black eye and u feel bad....hell no...its war we fight to the end...and its not the end...
thats not a question of peace its a question of do we want to be attacked again and has the people and or persons responsible for the attacks been caught or killed...the answer is NO |

i would agree with your statement, although the u.s. and allies already do have ground forces, but they need more. i think the use of bombings are to destroy the caves that are built within the mountains to rid of the taliban underground network, that the ground soldiers cannot get into. but again how much more do they have to bomb??? i really don't know??? |

Alright, I'll try and keep this brief.
Firstly, Tiesto14, you need to stop taking things so personally. People in this discussion haven't (generally) been attacking American people, they have - as evil_bastard put it - been attacking US policy and that redneck president George Dubbya. If you take criticism of US foreign policy and of your president personally, then you have been brainwashed by a dangerous cult known as "American Patriotism". If you cannot criticise your country, or accept that your country, on the whole, may be at all imperfect, then you are no better than the terrorists: |
i KNOW America is not eprfect...i do not deny that...but its hillarious how Americans are called arrogant yet all the majority of Europeans and wimpy Canadians have shown here is how they think America is bad or less then there countries....NOW i dont know what school u went to but to me that seems like ARROGANCE on their part....thinking they are better then us....hoiw many times has an American on this board talked down upon another country or said soemthing negative to them...99% of the time never...however time and time again the ARROGANCE of Europeans and Canadians is demonstrated with their hatred towards America....so rethink why i get upset.

NO THREAT out of Afghanistan?.....hhhhmmmmm i guess the Taliban and Al Queda have camps in Moscow.....
| quote: | | Originally posted by Renegade Bin Laden doesn't scare me, George Bush does. And I think most of the people living outside of the US would agree with me. |
good be scared.,..be scared that if any country s with us they will fase are wrath.....and besides if your so worried about a nuclear war , well maybe u should be concerned about Pakistan and India....go read a little and look how they are in a war that could end in nuclear....but i guess tahts different also right?

So all the Afghans at the wedding were guilty of original sin and deserved to die? Same goes for the people in the WTC then?. |
no not all...but the wedding was less then 10 miles from a Taliban camp and the people where firing in the sky towards American aircraft....so it was a mistake....big difference...maybe the peole at the wedding should have known a little beter not to shoot weapons into the sky during a war where they have aricraft in the sky...oh wait that would take too much common sense..

The US, with its military involvements over the last decade or so, has created literally hundereds of thousands (possibly millions?) of rufugees, but has one of the smallest intakes of refugees in the world. |
yes and Canada has one of the highest intake of refugees, because of their ty border contols..they let in anyone even without out proper ID...if u dont have the proper ID u go through some ty ass interveiws and if u dont seem like a threat then u can enter OOOHHH CANADA....then u know what those refugees do>?.,...well then they sneak into America and leetch of our resources.....if they get sick you know who pays?...the American tax payer,.,.we have so many people without health insurance in America and cant pay for medical bills...yet these refugees come in and get it for free....ing insane...thanks Canada.
| quote: | | Originally posted by Renegade By continually bombing Afghani infrastructure, the Americans are creating more refugees by the day, yet they make no effort whatsoever to accomodate them when they flee from the destruction.. |
you know thats not true...we have sent millions upon millions in aid to Afghanistan...we have set up schools and sent teachers...we have helped them set up their new government and sent tons and tons of food and supplies....that in fact the Taliban soldiers woudl shoot at Afghanistan civilians at some drop points if they went near the supplies we dropped for them...go read a little more..ur way off.
