Does anyone think that this is a good deal for a diamond engagement ring? (pg. 13)

Haha... high fives to my defenders out there. Naturally i don't believe a divorce will ever hapen, but if it did i doubt she'd give it back and i wouldn't want it back anyway, since it has significant personal symbolism to me as well. It was a gift.

I do have a lifetime buyback guarantee on it though which would make it slightly tempting to hold her down, rip it off, and run to the jeweler with it.. lol

and to the people who say love is little things like "whatever" and it's all about doing nice things for your love one, doesn't buying a nice ring do those things? if money is no issue, why is too high a price a problem? the price vs value have diminishing returns depending on the girl, but you can't deny a nicer ring is always better.

Of course nicer is better. I would just personally prefer something less traditional. As in, put the rocks in my ears, not on my finger. :o

it's actually the invention of interest that is evil as far as i'm concerned. that's what started DEBT and that's what causes problems and creates a weakness/control situation.

Wanna lend me a few grand to buy my gf an engagement ring? Since you don't like interest, I promise I'll pay it back when I die. I'll put you down as a beneficiary of my life insurance policy.

making it a point to NOT make money in life simply because i don't like what it has come to and how it has negatively affected our society would be incredibly ing stupid of me, don't you think? lol

if you can't beat em, join em...as the saying goes.

god you guys all jumped on my post like some rabid dogs. lol i'm a hippy at heart, lemme alone:p i can talk about how this entire earth is controlled by banks and money if i want:o

ps- i also will refuse to keep all of my money in a bank, the more i make. i want it in my house, in a safe or invested in real estate and that's it.
MrJiveBoJingles
Keeping money in a safe long-term is unwise, since inflation ensures that its value will depreciate.

hey everybody's different. i personally dont like the idea of banks charging me fees to transfer my own money or do anything in general WITH MY OWN ING MONEY.

that. banks. i'll be fine with my money dont worry about me:)

Nothing says 'I love you' more than a ring that you got from the 0.99 cents store.

is an engagement ring really that important?

personally, i think the fact he/she is proposing is more relevant.. however, once you get married, i think that ring should have a lot of meaning behind it considering you will wear it for the rest of your life..
