nothing says 'look at me mom, i can pay back 15 dollars a month' more than a ridiculous oversized engagement ring

I don't agree there.

If you can afford it do it.. if you can't thats another story.

if you're making over 60 or 70 thousand lbs and can spend the money you would buy an engagement ring for in a weekend or a night out. Then seriously that demonstrates that your spouse is easily disposable.

No wonder divorce rates are so high these days. I don't blame the women.

buying something is easy to do. and buying something you cant afford to please the materialistic requirements of your girlfriend is plain ing stupid.

did i say a 50,000 dollar ring?

no

but honestly 77 pounds me in the ass. a hooker makes more than that for a blowjob.

lol it's a RING ffs! it plays the most insignificant role in marriage and love. don't you get it?

i will trade any piece of material object in exchange for an amazing husband whom i can trust and who will love and respect me and our children unconditionally for the rest of our life.

I think i do. I know that with saving and budgeting and not living off credit that i could probably save up for a nice engagement ring for my future fiance.

Most guys that wouldnt plan for these things are guys that you see on shows like cheaters and that bought a 2 for 1 diamond deal and gave the next girl the same thing. lol
Slylee
lol well that certainly wont be the case for me because we're on the same exact page about this topic.

honestly, tatooing someone's name on their body shows more of a commitment than a diamond ring.

yeah.. its so easy to say i love you and comit to you without any action. All jokes aside your boyfriend is working a decent job (he probably makes 50 or 60 g's at least) landscaping is high in demand and its labour. You're telling me that he couldnt afford to do something nice for you that would accumulate more then 1/60th of his salary?

I guess so is cutting off your ear and offering it.

I dunno i dont want to get into this scuffle. Its personal choice. I just say if you love the person dearly and you can afford it (mostly anyone can) then do something nice for her. Think about it get her something decent.

he's not a landscaper at all lol we killed our tomato plants because neither one of us has a green thumb.

he's a contractor who specializes in new bathrooms and electrical. he remodels expensive homes. he's currently working on a 15k bathroom. he's doing the marble installation, the counter tops, all the plumbing himself.

anyway i dont care what he makes, i dont care about having a fancy diamond ring. i care about how he treats me and the things he does for me, not the things he buys me.

the bottom line is that it's materialistic to put a requirement on the type of ring you buy a girl to show your love. it should have nothing to do with love. and if you don't agree with that, then i'm done arguing about it. you're never going to understand it and you're just a product of society and social pressure.

money is equivalent to the work output per unit per job. If you earn more money, you are more valued to society or work harder (this is the general system). 77lbs is what most people make in a day. Don't you see something wrong with that? Does this demonstrate unconditional to you? No ifs ands or buts about it unless you are living on welfare there is no excuse for telling someone i want to marry you and giving them a 77 lb ring thats suppose to remind her for the rest of her life your unconditional love for her. And everytime you look at it you will think "man i got a sweet deal from ebay "

...

Just saying.
