Does anyone think that this is a good deal for a diamond engagement ring? (pg. 4)

jesus you're retarded.

how can you NOT see it as having a price requirement = conditional?

How deep do you plan on making the cuts in her throat?

i don't there is a price requirement for a ring but i would hope it's a major purchase for someone or a ring being passed down the family. it should be something nice which in most cases means it's worth something. i don't like the idea of people upgrading their rings in a couple years...although i don't believe in putting yourself in serious debt. i know a guy who got his fiance a $30k engagement ring while he was a graduate student / intern...also not a good idea.

personally, i prefer something like a blue aquamarine over a diamond.

i dont even like wearing rings. i like them for fashion reasons but the minute i am home or whatever, the rings come off. same with any jewelry piece really.

and +1 on the blue aquamarine stone. beautiful stone indeed.

the blue aquamarine is fantastic accented by smaller diamonds and there you go perfect ring. there is one that looks similar on tiffany's website which i adore. i have a bad habit of taking off watches, bracelets and rings after short periods of time which explains why all i wear is a watch because i see it as a necessity. anyway, if i had that ring i'd make it a point to leave it on.

yea i'm pretty much the same. my daily jewelry is my watch and these small gold japanese earings my dad got me from japan. they aren't dangly or anything, just round stud type.

money = time invested.

If you buy something expensive for someone it shows that you worked hard to get her that.

You're boyfriend is pulling off 15,000 dollar jobs he can afford to get you something decent. You don't need to try and justify his cheapness.

i don't think an engagement ring really matters imo :conf: as long as you give her a nice wedding ring bc she's going to wear that everyday of her life :p so don't go getting it from ebay lol

I have a feeling my bf's nana would give him her ring to give to me. She strikes me as that kind of woman. Or maybe I'm just concocting the idea because I love that kind of tradition and to me it holds the right kind of meaning. I guess it's because, traditionally, the woman takes the man's name, which symbolizes joining his family...so it seems like the most meaningful representation of that would be to have the family ring.

What if it's a ty, ugly ring though? :p

I dunno, I got my gf an engagement ring that I could afford at the time. It wasn's super-expensive, but it wasn't a cheapo piece of crap either. I know what she likes, and what she wears.

We've bought her wedding ring already. White gold, 8 small diamonds, and one larger diamond. We got a good deal on it, but the most important thing is that she likes it (and I think it's awesome too). I mean, she's gonna be wearing it for a while, right? (Once we eventually get married, that is :p)

Statistically, not that long. ;)

Heh, well I dunno that it's ty or ugly. I don't think I've ever really paid attention to the jewelry she wears. But I do know that I love old things...things with a story. That's what makes them valuable to me.
