see...you think of the ring as just a ring and that's the difference between you and many women and men.

The divorce rate really has nothing to do with how you feel about the person at the time you propose to them.

yea it's because people have no idea what true love is and get married for the wrong reasons. usually it's an ultimatum the chick gave him because she's on a time crunch for marriage and kids and all her friends are getting married and she feels left out and wants a ring, etc...

u get my point.

the ring is a material object that really should have nothing to do with whether or not she is going to say yes. love isn't about what you can buy that person or how much you're willing to spend. it shouldn't measure love in any way whatsoever as far as im concerned, but i'm obviously alone on this matter lol

putting in actual effort in a relationship...getting off your ass and doing things that you may not necessarily want to do but your loved one does, is an example of how i measure love.

my husband telling me to sleep in on a saturday and that he'll take care of the baby so i can catch up on sleep is love to me lol not taking me to the jewelry store...that's too easy.

No, Slylee you just don't understand.

It's not a real marriage unless a goat changes hands.

I wonder how many people have said this and later got divorced. Everyone wants to make an exception of himself. Yeah, those other people, they don't know what "true love" is, but I do, so my marriage is bound to be awesome.

:stongue:

and jive i absolutely know what love is...or at least what it's supposed to be. it can be different for everyone, but i know what the healthy version of it is.

the biggest problem with love is the misconception of it put out there by the media.

I consider myself a Jew by behavior, but one thing I won't cheap out on is a ring. I don't mind paying extra or more for the perfect one. Ebay is tacky and you're likely to be cheated. Not worth it.

You're a dellusional idiot.. honestly. What is harder please tell me. Earning the the money (working hard hours intellectually or labourously) saving that money and budgetting in order to get your loved one something special, Or just making her a coffee in the morning. GOD you're dumb. He should be doing that anyways and loving you unconditionally. Thats what true love is. You'll only find out what true love is when the going gets tough. Otherwise your living in fairy land.

Lol, settle down. Not everyone has the same values that you do. If she's not into expensive jewelry, then she's not. What do you care?
