virtually impossible to gauge a track (especially a prog one) off a minute and a half, but what i heard sounded very nice :)

thanks fellas- there's a couple elements that i'm no longer happy with that i'll with a bit, but then i'll send the full track everyone's way.
tbh though i don't think it's at all a good gauge of what i produce and i'm not really proud or happy about the track (hence why i didn't ever upload it anywhere). it was kind of a.. i dunno, a -around project- i don't listen to or like prog too much anymore. feeling a little bit awkward about using this as an entry because i think i could do better. |

Nice to have you on the board man. If you believe you could do better then this, you should definitely start to working on something new from which you will be completely satisfy. From what I heard, your track has really nice feel and is quite well constructed, so the choice is yours.

thanks. yeah, i mean the big issue is that i'm working on one big project right now and i'm really, really excited to start work on my next one; so while i really want to contribute to this mix, i'm unsure if i'll be able to hit that january 25th deadline- so an already completed project is the easiest way to satisfy everyone i guess. |

There's a good reason for the three threads.
1. The poll thread has most likely reached it's conclusion. The majority want a compilation by roughly 3/1. A mix can obviously be made of this compilation quite easily. This thread will die and drop quickly.
2. I was hoping the rules thread could be stickied and that be the main point of reference for people to go to.
3. The initial 'TA album' thread is where all the discussions and inevitable disagreements can take place.

The track length of 7 minutes is a good compromise I think. Most of mine tend to be 4-6 minutes and most of the tracks i've seen come in so far are of a similar length.
Who judges what goes on? - No idea yet. With two versions of the album there's a good chance that nothing will need to be chopped (assuming an entry isn't just rubbish).
Entries per person - perhaps it's better to say make as many entries as you want but only one will go on each album?

I think is my time to give a small preview of my work.
This is a quick dirty concept created at 1:00am on my headphones, so it is completely unfinished with only some melody line establish.

Thank man,
With my crazy work schedule (50-60hrs per week)and family it is not really easy to accomplish this task. So with the small window of opportunity (usually between 11:00pm-1:00am) I'm trying to do what I love to do and what I won it to do my whole entire live.
I'm really optimistic about this effort, so guys go beck to your design station and keep the music coming.
